Barry Sanders is the greatest RB of all time.

There was another Chicago Bear that was a great back who played college ball in the Sunflower State. He was a Jayhawker and his initials are G.S. I sure that everyone knows that Sanders played high school football in Kansas. I kind of lost track of him after his high school playing days.:)

If barry didn't retire so early, this wouldn't even be a debate. He averaged more yards per carry and more touchdowns per season while playing on horrible teams that even had a freaking run n shoot offense. But neither are as good as Jim Brown.

Walter Payton hands down. Walter always got yards. He was a consistant and tough runner.

Sanders danced and got negative yards alot. In fact he ended games with negative yards a few times inlcluding against the 94 Packers in the playoffs. His only NFC Championship he got 59 yards. He is the human highlight reel, but not the best back

You got a point. I like balanced backs on my team. Still, Sanders would have been better if he played on Payton's team. Sanders is not only the best NFL running back of all time, but also the greatest college football has ever known.

I doubt it. Walter Payton first 9 years the Bears only had 2 above .500 records. Now the last 4 years were for great teams but most people forget the bulk of his stats came on bad to mediocre teams, just like Sanders

Sanders did much more with less. Put him on the Cowboys with Emmitt's line and Sanders would have put up video game stats.

You could say that about any great RB. That Oline was sick.

Barrys 10 year career 67-77 record
First 10 for Walter 71-76. Last 3, 40-7. Paytons stats were consistant over the teams crappy and great years.

Look, Sanders was better... Not by a lot, but still he was better.
