Evidently a little kid playing with matches started the wildfires that caused $Billions in damage...

uh-oohhh....




SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) - Officials blamed a wildfire that consumed more than 38,000 acres and destroyed 21 homes last week on a boy playing with matches, and said they would ask a prosecutor to consider the case.

The boy, whose name and age were not released, admitted to sparking the fire on Oct. 21, Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht said Tuesday. Ferocious winds helped it quickly spread.

"He admitted to playing with matches and accidentally starting the fire," Hecht said in a statement.
The boy was released to his parents, and the case will be presented to the district attorney's office, Hecht said. It was not clear if he had been arrested or cited by detectives.


I don't see how they can press charges in this situation...

They should ban everything flammable from the state of california. It is ridiculous how they have a wildfire every year that costs millions of dollars.

that would mean they would have to ban weed...it won't happen.

one day a wild fire will be caused by a pothead...and all the other potheads in Cali will be too "unmotivated" to move...and there will be mass casualties...causing the state to take an unprecidented action & ban wind.

Since he's just a kid, he should work off the debt, that way by age 401, he'll be able to live his life

If he is underage the worst they could probably do is keep him locked up until he's 21.

speaking of potheads and hippies and we know california has both, the ones that were protesting the cutting down of trees for a sports facility, can be legally "removed" from them by Cal.

Actually, wildfires are a natural part of that area b/c of the types of plants that grow there. This kid only started one fire. Most of the other ones were started naturally b/c the ground was so hot that it ignited the brush. All of that underbrush in San Diego and LA is very oily and obviously very flammable. Every couple of years that underbrush naturally tries to clear itself out by burning.
