A&M, Nebraska, Baylor, Oklahoma State?
I think 3 will change coaches. Mike Gundy will probably get 1 more shot.

3 for sure. I think Gundy has at least one more year. A&M will hire Tubberville, Baylor will hire Mike Singletary, and Nebraska will hire Turner Gill.

Agree with both of you. 3 of the 4 will have a new coach next season.

Turner Gill?
Really. I keep hearing it's Pelini, then no, it's Gill, then no, it's Pelini.
I'm not sure Gill is ready for HC, but he is ceratinly a national hero of Nebraska.

What about Leach? Do you think he takes another shot at bolting with all the big name programs opening up head spots?
Heck, Florida State might open up. Maybe he'll throw his hat in the ring there (like he did Miami).

Without Leach tech is screwed.

Michigan.
Possibly LSU.
UCLA.
Possibly Florida State.
Possibly Penn State. (JoePa may walk away)
Possibly Auburn.
Texas A&M
There's going to be a lot of movement this off-season.

That is a 100% certainty that will happen one day. He knows all he needs is a better place to recruit talent to have a great shot at winning the MNC. Normally I wouldn't say it would happen this year though. He is getting paid well, he is in no danger even if he starts to have losing seasons, and his own program is running on 8 cylinders. And more importantly he is young and has many years to go.
But with all the movement he might feel like he has to take a shot.
I would say 30% he is gone, 70% he stays. I can see him in the Pac 10 easilly.

I think Leach stays at tech until Stoops leaves for the nfl and the OU job opens up. I see Leach as the next HC at OU.

I don't see that. And I think if Leach were smart, he'd leave tceh ASAP while his stock is as hight as it is. And to respond to an earlier post, tceh will not tolerate losing seasons for very long, no matter who their coach is.
tceh loses too many games that they should win. That's why I don't think OU hires him. They will look for a coach that has teams that finish games and take care of business, and tceh only dose that in games that they perceive are important. That's a direct reflection on coaching, IMO.
Leach needs to leave now before he develops a reputation at tceh for mediocre teams. Yes, the talent level is holding him back some there, and it's not going to get any better. At some point folks will say they've peaked, and Leach's stock will drop.

I agree. I see Fran, Guy Morris, and Callahan leaving.
Predictions are that A&M will either get -Bo Penili
-Tommy Tuberville
- Or the TCU head coach. forgot his name
but we still have to beat out a lot of top colleges....plus nebraska in our confrence.:undecided:

Howdy and Welcome Chuck! The only thing I don't agree with you is that we'll go after Gary Patterson. One ex-tcu coach is enough for our football program.

Just my guesses
Michigan if they win out or only lose to ohio st by less than 3 points will not be looking for a new coach.
LSU not unless he losses everygame from here till the end of the season
UCLA one would think so at this point in the season.
Florida State. Not unless Bowden retires
Penn State. Not unless Bowden retires and Joepa passes him up in the wins this year.
Auburn. Possible not probable
Texas A&M Yes.

Here was my thinking.
Michigan -- if they lose to OSU, Carr is gone. They wanted to run him out after the loss to Oregon, so he's lucky he was able to right the ship. He's got the stigma of not being able to win the big one (can't beat OSU or win the Rose Bowl when they go).
LSU -- Les Miles leaves LSU to go to Michigan (a place he's wanted to go).
UCLA -- you don't lose to Notre Dame and Utah like that...he's gone.
Florida State -- You can only let Bowden drive you to mediocrity for so long while Florida and Miami get better. The administration might put pressure on Bowden to make a move this off-season.
Penn State -- JoePa will probably be back, but you don't know how his health will hold up.
Auburn -- following the thinking that Tuberville comes to A&M.
Texas A&M -- we fire Fran...thus the opening.

I think Bowden and Paterno are there as long as they want...don't agree with it per se but it is reality I think.
Carr retires at years end....Miles goes to Michigan
I think Pellini goes to Nebraska
Fran is gone
I'm torn on Tuberville...

Or your thinking may work too. Regardless this will be an interesting Coaching situation this offseason and next year.
One person i'll have an eye on is Major Applewhite. He may stay at bama another year or two, but if he can pull off the upset offensivly with LSU He will all of a sudden be a coach people are seriously looking at.

i know this is a ways off but i really would love to see major applewhite at tu and dat nguyen here matching wits every year. complete polar opposites and would make for some great games. granted this is 15 yrs down the road but i have a feeling both will have the chance if they want it.

I'd agree that Patterson is not a serious candidate. His program is in a little bit (i.e a lot) of turmoil this year...seems they didn't have a good QB ready to take over from the senior that departed after last season...just a little minor detail that the coach overlooked.

Just to put in my $.02 worth about the original post. Gundy isn't on the hot seat at all unless somehow OSU loses out (including @Baylor). If OSU can beat Texas tomorrow then he's probably closer to Big 12 COY than unemployed (not saying he'll win it, just placing the measuring stick).

Actually, I will be rooting for OSU to run it up on Gaylor. I'd love for their fraudulent coach to go oh-fer in the conference this year.

Why should Baylor expect any better than Guy Morris? They haven't done squat since Grant Teaff left, and the administration refuses to put any money into better facilities for football.
