Sports for Kids
Texas A&M University

To Whom It May Concern:

Sports for Kids is a student organization at Texas A&M University that is dedicated to providing underprivileged children the opportunity to obtain involvement in organized sports so that they may experience the benefits gained through athletic participation. We achieve this goal through many programs in the Bryan-College Station area, and only hope to increase our involvement as we increase in size and make a name for ourselves in the community.

The inspiration for this organization came from our personal involvement in sports and the appreciation of the qualities we gained through involvement in competitive athletics. Getting involved in athletics at an early age creates a positive environment that allows for the development of goal-setting skills, sportsmanship, camaraderie, self-discipline, physical health and mental health.

Our organization has experienced tremendous growth in its short life. We have installed programs of visitation at the Lincoln Recreation Center in College Station, as well as a mentors program where you visit one troubled child a week to help him or her with school or just hang out and play sports. Sports for Kids also has a program called Show and Tell, in which we take a group of kids free of charge to an A&M athletic event such as basketball, volleyball, etc.

One of our key programs is Sports Fest, a one-day event designed for a large number of kids to participate in a variety of small clinics given by Club & Varsity Athletes. Since Sports for Kids targets underprivileged children, we provide all of our events free of cost for the participants. As you can imagine these events require a significant level of financing to organize, plan, and operate.
_______________________________________________

Therefore we are asking for your help through a donation to our organization. In return for your contribution, your business logo will be placed on the back of our Fall 2007 Sports Fest T-shirts that will be given to all the children, athletes, and volunteers. (Approximately 250 shirts per semester)

Any size donation will be greatly appreciated. If your business has any interest in supporting our cause or if you have any questions or comments about SFK, please email me at sbeaty7@neo.tamu.edu or call me any time at 979-204-6678.

Sincerely,

Staci Beaty

Executive Director of Sports Fest

Sports Fest Fall 2007

Sports for Kids will be having our semi-annual Sports Fest this December at Texas A&M University. Sports Fest is a one day event in which we target underprivileged children to come to the campus and learn about various sports and their importance in their lives.

Sports Fest is held free of charge for any and all children who can attend. Our program lasts about five hours and we provide snacks, drinks, and a free t-shirt. Last semester we had approximately 150 children attend, as well as over 50 student volunteers, and just as many Texas A&M athletes. As you can imagine, putting on this program costs a great deal of effort and money each semester. We are looking for sponsors on three different levels:

Silver
Less than $100
Sponsors name and logo will appear on Sports For Kids website
Sponsors name and logo will be put on all Sports Fest applications

Gold
$100 - $300
All silver sponsor benefits
Sponsors name and logo will be placed on over 250 Sports Fest t-shirts

Platinum
Over $300
All silver and gold sponsor benefits
Sponsors name and logo will be prominently displayed on over 250 Sports Fest t-shirts

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
All donations will be put directly back into the future of this community and its children.

Sounds like a good cause. Would you like anyone to take pictures of the event? I could probably do it
