I think this means a cleaning of the house in Lincoln, so if there is a deal in the works to buy out Fran, then Byrne needs to reserve a plance, park it at Easterwood and starting making the calls to coaches we wants to look at.

Although I still say he should call Jerry Jones and ask for permission to talk to Jason Garrett and make him an offer. I think he would be awesome in Aggieland.

What if we hired BOTH a offensive minded guru (Tedford, Garret) AND a defensive genius (Pelini)...and paid them BOTH good HC $$$...

Garrett will already be getting HC money. Whether that means getting a Greg Williams (from the Redskins) type of deal where he'll get HC money as a DC and a bonus if he's not named the next head coach from the Cowboys. Or he'll get a job for some other NFL team as HC right away.

It would be very interesting to see Tedford's offense in the Big 12. He's the king of NFL QB busts: Akili Smith (3rd overall), Joey Harrington (3rd overall), Trent Dilfer (not horrible, but a bad 6th overall pick), Kyle Boller (19th overall), and Aaron Rodgers (24th overall but hard to talk against him since he's behind Favre and hasn't played). The guy gets great play, but somehow his guys never pan out at the next level.

Poke you are right it would be interesting, Tedford bears got beaten by Tech in the holiday bowl few years back, but then they throttle us last year, go figure! I would be interesting at this point anything is better than what we have.

never thought about that. I'm guessing that would be the first time we had a 2 time HC. I agree I dont see him coming here as a DC.
