Why in the blue hell does this kid not run north to south on a consistent basis? His east to west style doesn\'t work/isn\'t working this season. He trys to \"burn\" everyone on every play. Just run kid!!!

The plays they have him running are to the edge

He is a lot more successful trying to get outside than he does trying to imitate Lane and going up the middle.

but it doesn\'t work. His running style is to come to the lane and then take a B-LINE to the sidelines. It works in HS, but this is CFB. He\'s not outrunning everyone here. The one big run he had today was down the middle of the field.

His big problem is he tries to juke out the tackler, but ends up with 2 or 3 yards less than if he would just keep running.

It's hard to watch on 3rd down. McGee needs to say, "Goodson, you have to get to the 30! GET THERE!" Too many times he could get the first down if he ran forward, but he tries to juke 3 yards behind the first down in hopes that he can break a big run by the defenders.

THAT is delusional. The only team that may be able to "smoke" Tech is OU. I bet Tech beats the sips this year too.

Delusional is not having the confidence in your team to \"smoke\" everyone. Go to txags with your sorry arse.lol Quit reading into SMOKE, which is more like just a WIN. But if you are into moral victories then you won today.

just like miami has been sooooo good this year? i dont go as far as texasaggies_13 but we should not be getting beat this consistently with the talent we have.

What Tech loses in talent, they make up for in Leach's scheme. Plus, they are starting to get atheletes.

Tech almost lost to UTEP does that tell you anything?

So by that thinking, we're guarenteed to beat NU next weekend. :gig:

I'll coach at A&M for $200,000 a year. I may only coach for one year but that's all I need.

the only way that is going to help is if BB is out of TP in his house.

I cannot agree with this statement...
After every loss we talk about how GREAT the opponent is (see Miami then...and NOW)...and then they prove to be the suck...
this tech team lost to osu...osu matched tech yard for yard...and we smashed osu in the mouth last week (in the second half). outside of the first drive (which I did not see..thanks gameplan...but heard was dominate)...there was NO part of the game in which we were really ever in...

I love Goodson but he was has been running way too much like Dante Hall lately.

In my opinion, Goodson never has anywhere to run. Typically he gets the ball and the called running lane is closed. That is when he tries to jump to the outside to gain some yards. He is incredibly fast, but it doesn't matter if he doesn't have anywhere to run.

There were plenty of runs that had he kept moving up field, he would have gained an extra 5 yards. Instead, he chose to try to turn the corner at the sideline and gained nothing.

Again... our O'Line allowing penatration..... which is what they didn't do last year....

My point exactly. If we are not opening up a lane for him to run through, then he has to bounce to the outside and try to make as much as he can. Our line play on both sides of the ball is very weak.

There was a positive correlation between the number of "jukes" Goodson did and the number of unblocked Tech defenders surrounding him. Also, in Goodson's defense, most of Fran's/Koenig's plays called for him to swing outside.

I agree completely. Give the guy a hole, and the safeties are trying to tackle him.

My point is that even though some of the running lanes were closed, he had room to run just outside the tackles but instead chose to try and make the corner.

well when we run the shotgun the defense is coming to us but in the I were going for the defense. we have to run the ball 5 to 7 yards to gain 1 in the I once given the ball you will be like 3 yards from line of scrimage and have down hill speed to hit a hole . to run north south you have to start north south.

I firmly believe 2 things with goodson....
1) Goodson should compliment Lane, not the other way around....
2) While Lane & Goodson are both at A&M, Goodson should be used more as a WR'ing RB..... I have yet to see him lined up on a LB or Safety this year... Not once have I seen him run on a crossing route to get him in open space.... Nothing... Just screens.... He could be used in the slots... maybe Goodson should have been the one recieving that hitch pass on 3rd & 5.. the one that Taylor dropped back 2 yards extra that made McGee double clutch since Taylor wasn't where he was supposed to be... JMO......

Pum, I like your point #2. Goodson was recruited by USC to be the next Reggie Bush. You know Pete Caroll would have been using him differently than Fran is.

I think the same could be true of a lot of our players.
