I know I've said it too many times, but I just wanted to share my thoughts once again on NL MVP.
Rankings:
Matt Holliday
Jimmy Rollins
Prince Fielder
Out of rankings:
Ryan Howard
Matt Holliday:
1st in Batting Average
1st in RBIs
3rd in Runs Scored
1st in Hits
1st in Total Bases
4th in Home Runs
2nd in Slugging %
0.405 On-Base % (6th)
Playoff Birth for the Rockies
Jimmy Rollins:
0.296 Batting Average (20th)
94 RBIs (94)
1st in Runs Scored
2nd in Hits (tied)
2nd in Total Bases
30 Home Runs (14th - tied)
0.531 Slugging % (15th)
0.344 On-Base % (47th)
Playoff Birth for the Phillies
41 stolen bases
20-20-20 (at least 20 HRs, doubles, triples)
30-30 (at least 30 HRs and SBs)
Plays SS which makes all his numbers MUCH more impressive
Plays a mean SS
Prince Fielder:
1st in HRs... with 50!
That's about it for Fielder. He's a great player, but no MVP by any means.
Ryan Howard:
2nd in HR and RBIs...
Other than that the man led the league with 199 strike-outs!
His Batting Average was below the league average at a wimpy 0.268
Not the best fielding First Baseman in the league... Actually statistically the worst starting 1B with the glove.
