What did you all think about this weeks installment? I actually expected him to defend Fran, but to his credit, he said the only things he could say, he didn't like what he saw in Miami and coaches are evaluated at seasons end. Maybe I'm reading to much into it because I want Fran gone, but it seems to me that Fran is on some thin ice.

Surprised it took so long to get posted here.....

Yep, there were many things missing from the typical post loss message:

1) No backhanded comments about "armchair coaches":bored:
2) No reference to the loss being merely a "dissappointment":bored:
3) No mention of being patient with the current staff:bored:
4) No civil war era quotes, drawn out stories about the Dallas Cowboys beginnings, or
other attempts to draw comparisons that do not apply.

What is also interesting:

1) Coach evaluations to be conducted at the end of the season:gig:
2) No mention of his "6 year turn-around period" for evaluating coaches;)

Overall, very safe but very telling..... :wow:

This is what actually is in print....

What some want me to say....

I've heard a plenty about how our coaches are evaluated. In fact, some want me to fire everyone right now. That's not the best way to conduct business. My process remains the same – we never discuss a coach's evaluation until the season is over, regardless of the sport.
That's how it's been in the five football seasons that we have been here, and throughout my career. It won't change now.

1. I like what I read and didn't read in this weeks WW.
2. I have always heard of BB refering to a 5 year plan NOT a six year plan that seems to have shown up lately from some people.
3. I think what will really be telling is what happens in our NEXT close game. If Fran starts pulling shirts and really changing up his coaching from his recent past here then it is clear that he feels the pressure. For example, if we see some of the old fran calls such as unexpected onside kicks, trick plays, and such I will KNOW the heat is on.

Yeah, no joke CalAg. Last year, I kept hearing people talk about how BB said that he would wait 5 years to evaluate a football coach. But, conveniently, this year, it has become 6 years that he waits before evaluating a coach.

Cal and Dustin,
Take a peek at post #9 for the 6 year explanation. ;)
