i need to get a new AC adapter for my hp laptop and i have a question for some of you. i can get a new one from hp, but that costs about $70. i have seen some on ebay that i can get for $20-30, but i want to make sure the plug-in connector will fit my laptop. my question is, as long as the laptop model i have is listed in the compatible units and it also lists the part and/or spare part number that matches my current AC adapter, it will work, right? i can give more info if anyone who can help needs it.

thanks in advance.

I would take the laptop, after one of your numerous 24 hour drinking binges, & strap it to your ass & light it on fire! Then you won't have to worry about getting a new adapter.

You could also check the DC voltage and milliamps produced by your current adapter and compare them to they one you want to buy. if they are the same you should be good.

yeah, i have checked those and they so match. does that have anything to do with the connector?

even this is not a poll, that is not an option ;)

if the V and A are the same and the model number is the same, you should be good to go with the connector.

hey tro,

i ordered the AC adapter through comptick.com and got a pretty good deal. the cost was $30 plus s/h. i did not look to see if they had replacement batteries and what the cost is, but i would think they have them too. my order should be delivered on wednesday. your buddy might want to check out comptick.com to see if he can get what he needs there for a good price.

Sorry I'm late to the party but you can cruise down to Office Depot and they have them that go for about the same price and have adapters for all models...the one I got was slightly higher but also has a Car Adapter to run while I'm on the road...
