Pi Kappa Phi members, from left,
Ryan Elber, C.J. Trevino and Gabe Guzman
made their feelings known with a sign on
their College Station fraternity house.
'There's nothing I can do about (the criticism)
except keep working to make my team as
good as it can be,' Coach Dennis Franchione
says.

What do you say?

Are you looking for a response to the guys and their banner, or to the quote from Fran?

The sign is stupid, but not much different than all of the posts of the same sentiment on the message boards.

Is Kappa Alpha even a frat anymore? Can't remember if they were just put on probation or completed disbanded.

Knights of Columbus that hurt. I think that was pretty piss poor for the eagle to put this on the front page. Good way to tell the players that the sutdents/community are behind you and supporting you.

one of my first room mates was in that frat. i know they were hit pretty hard and had to shut down operations after that incident, banned from campus. of course they didnt totally shut down. they kept doing everything they had always done, just not as a sanctioned fraternity by the university. i have idea if they are still around in cs though.

Reminds me of the "Make Emory a Memory" banner hung on one of the Men's dorms back in 1976 I think...some linemen went up to the offending dorm rooms, kicked some ass, and removed the banner. I think that banner made the Eagle as well - but not on the front page.

BTW at A&M in my day if you wanted to join a frat, it was called The Corps of Cadets. Frats and Sororities were not recognized by the University. It was a distinction we were proud of, given the "Animal House" reputation of those organizations back then.

I know they serve a purpose, not all are bad, but we had 35,000 students back then and seemed to do just fine without the greeks.

Giving Fran the boot doesnt mean students/community arent behind the players. It has nothing to do with the players.

no one is arguing about "giving Fran the boot"...the issue is the right forum to discuss it...

"Proudly displaying" a flag, banner, or whatever copelt mentioned (at a tailgate)...are all poor means of voicing your opinion...IMO

Those are about the goofiest/nerds I have ever seen. It didn't take much to get into a frat when I was and there....... and apparently that is still the case.

Proud member from the only Frat. At least we didn't have to pay to get in, and they let anyone in. Frats suck.
