Major epiphany after reading Brent Z's article.
The differences between Gillispie, who’s split for Kentucky, and football coach Dennis Franchione are marked. Gillispie would rip his players following a victory – and then rip ’em some more, always demanding more.
Franchione will tell you he’s just happy his guys scored one more point – or two more points – than Fresno State.
Thats it. Thats exactly it. How many times do we hear our coach and even our players saying, a win is a win. Quit nagging us, quit being negative, yadda yadda yadda. Was the basketball team and BCG like that? HELL NO.

They made no excuses, they strived to be perfect, they weren't content with just winning.

Coach Fran has rubbed his defensive personality onto our players and now even stephen gets frustrated with criticism, etc. We need our team to strive to be perfect, to not care what others think, to try to beat the hell out of everyone. To get excited, to have fire, and to not make any excuses. GO OUT AND PLAY AND GIVE THEM HELL!

EDIT: here's the link. its a pretty big jab. http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/stories/MYSA0926.WEB.AggiesInsider.en.10be5d70a.html

I am inclined to agree with this.

I have assumed that is a condition also. Shouldn't a coach pander to his players? It seems like souther football players like to be yelled at and have an angry, don't take any bull****, type of coach. Yankee boy just doesn't fit....I am sure it a huge difference from how the guys were coached their entire life.

I may be completely wrong on that though

I wonder what life would be like if we applied that to everything.....

1. I don't want a happy marriage. Just being married is good enough.
2. I don't want to get paid any more than exactly what it takes to pay my bills.
3. I only want sex to have kids...I don't need or want any more than that.

wow.....what a lame way to live.

Speaking of the money one, I wonder why Fran is paid so much. Seems like he would be satisfied just having a job.

You're absolutely right!
This is the kind of attitude that's bothered me for over a year and a half now. But everytime I would write something to that effect someone would jump all over me and called me negative and wrote that I should support Fran, and how Fran was taking the program in the right direction.....

I just instinctly did not like his personality when he got defensive and made excuses. It's like when you meet a used car salesman.....there's that little thought in the back of your head that doesn't trust what he's saying.

Ouch! Couple this with the venom being spewed by Guy Morris, hell of a week for sports writers they should have plenty of materials. I actually heard Morris a few days ago, say "We hate Texas A&M, and we want to come out of Kyle Field with a victory", he put some emphasis on the word hate!

A Waco news station did a segment last night about the A&M-bu rivalry. They asked a couple of fans and players from both sides if they felt it was a rivalry. The bu side was very certain it was a big rivalry. They don't like us, look forward to this game, and want to win at all cost. The A&M side said it has turned into a good series, but is not a rivalry. Said bu views it that way because they wish they were more like us in fan support, etc. Also said the bu players feel that way because many of them (kids) don't get recruited by A&M.

Yea, they hate us.

Brent's article was written very well and was spot on right. I really like the way he covers the Ags.
