I think the 6 million dollar buyout puts us lower on the hotseat. that's alot of cash.

I want to find six million somewhere...

I wouldn't use it to buy off fran...I'd probably get a wicked cool house & a pogo stick.

hey...so what about that brittney spears?

You could get a bada$$ pogo stick for 6 million.

maybe...I'm looking for rocket boosters & possibly a magic carpet to boot.

I'm figuring that'd cost me around 4 mill. 1 mill will be for our new house & I'm saving some for a hoverboard.

I read possible replacement in that link. i like Paul Johnson (Navy) he would take our run talent and mutiply it a thousand. but we would need somem for D which right now is what is hurting us the most. anyone who will get rid of 4-2-5 that is not a wrecking crew formation.

If Paul Johnson from Navy came in -- goodbye WR's forever. I don't think that's the type of offense we'd need to run (especially with the grumblings about a passing game this year).

If we can afford to spend $50+ million on a big screen, ribbon boards, and basketball facilities, we better be willing to spend the $6 million it costs to get rid of Fran.

We didn't spend a dime on those things. They all came to us for the price of the advertising revenue they bring in.

Why not try & take USF's coach?

in 11 seasons he's only had 2 losing seasons... & has brought that program up from a D-1AA School to a D-1A School & now has his team competing with & beating some of the better teams in the Big East...

Also he has roots in Florida... Recruiting both Texas & Florida could be huge for A&M.....

I haven't read this thread, but I'm curious Pum and Pinche, do you all think BB is gonna pull the trigger at seasons end? On swing back on forth day to day, sometimes I think he sees what most of us see other days I think, naw he'll just continue to support him. Will he make a move?

Don't know Maryland.....

BB so far has stayed true to most of his words & he said Fran has 6 years hands down..... regardless of what we want..

Me personally.... unless A&M goes 5-0 against the rest of the Big XII south.... I'll want him gone, but BB doesn't care what I want....

But this team on talent alone will win 8 games.... It's the extra 2 to 3 games that will decide Fran's fate (or at least I would hope they do)... but I doubt BB goes back on his word of 6 years......

I'm just thinking after the way we played against Miami that this season is done. I could be wrong, & I'm still behind this team, but I just don't see how they right the ship. I think BB is thinking 9 wins including wins over tu & in a bowl game to keep him on board.

But I gotta bump it again...... that USF coach is freakin awesome right now....

His Defense is a beast & full of guys playing over their head every game.....

His offense is also a very good one also......Dude is the next Urban Meyer & I'd love to see A&M nab him up.....

I think you hit the nail on the head with this one...

yes Texas is and will be the center for HS football, but lately there has been a slight paradigm shift to Florida (and to some degree California). A lot of speed players are coming out of there...and I wouldn't mind having a few on our team...

The final record would be one factor, no doubt. I'd expect there would be others:

> Has the perceived gap between t.u., OU, even tceh, widened or closed?

> In games that we lose (assuming we lose a few of the B12 games), were they clsoe games or blowouts?

> Did we look prepared? Or look like we did against Miami and Cal?

> If we play in a bowl game, how do we do? Win? Close loss? (Another) blow-out?

> In summary, has the team moved ahead or regressed?

The South Florida coach already said he isn't going anywhere. He had the chance to leave already, and stayed. He wants to become the next Bobby Bowden and take a team from Florida that was nothing and turn them into a powerhouse that wins national championships, and he is more than half way there.

Alot of coaches say that....... I remember one saying that in BCS last year....

I'm pretty sure USF is the largest university in Florida...so he has a pretty good recruiting base...not to mention that Tallahassee & Gainesville are sheeot-holes of towns...and Tampa is a pretty fun place & ideal for a college student.

Except he is from the tampa bay area, and was persued by both Alabama, K-State and Miami last year as their number 1 choice and stayed.

A&M has more $$$$$$$... & this dude would be worth it since he's already proven himself against top notch coaches & teams....

my little brother graduated from USF...the LOVE the guy...if he stays he does have the opportunity to be "bowden-ized"...statues...naming the stadium (whenever they get their own) after him...etc, etc...

KCAggie

And Alabama and Miami don't have money? I would love to have the guy, there is just no way he's leaving. He has a chance to become imortalized down there. And USF is a big school - just as big as A&M, and his contract is pretty huge I'm sure. If not, it will be soon enough.

I want Kubiak, but no way that will ever happen........I think we should go after Norm Chow, then in a few years we could get Dat to be our DC, and we would have the Asian connection as our coaches. :)

And we don't need someone to become Joe Paterno here and coach at A&M for 40 years.
