Assuming Fran stays:

What motivation would there be for Javorskie Lane to stay for next year as opposed to going pro. Fran has proven over and over that in crucial gametime situations or in nationally spotlighted games he will not put the ball in Javorskie's hands. Meanwhile, he runs him ragged against the minor opponents with little to no national exposure. This being the case.....if you were JLane, why stay another year and get the same non-exposure while risking injury?

See Toombs career path for the answer. If he stays for his senior year he will get drafted maybe in the mid rounds of the draft. If he leaves this year hello arena football or worse hello Lufkin city worker.

I have to disagree on that one. Had Toombs stayed academically elligible, and therefore able to play the next year, he would have been used and used frequently. Lane does not appear to have that advantage. Not saying you are wrong of course as I did basically ask for opinioins, I just disagree with that one.

Lane's not ready for the pros. It's that simple. If he leaves early, he's just cutting his football career short.

If he stays for his senior year, works on his game and impresses people he'll have a better shot at getting drafted higher (than he would if he left now).

he'll probably want to stick around long enough so Aggie fans know how to spell his name...;)

Lane promised either his mom or grandma he'd get a degree, blood is thicker than water!!!! The kid is in a tough spot, and I could feel his frustration last night.

What concerns me more than Lane leaving is recruiting! Alot of recruits saw that on TV last night, seriously, why would you come to play here? All D1 prospects think they will play on sundays, in fact I heard an old coach here on sports radio in the DC area say, if they don't think they can play on Sundays then you don't want them in your program, even if reality is few make it. Anyway the point is what about our offense tells a recruit that A&M will prep him for the next level?

We will win some and lose some this season, probably lose some we shouldn't and win some we shouldn't, just the way the ball rolls, but the undeniable truth is that we play UGLY, we look ameuterish. We try to copy Florida and WV but the truth is we look nothing like them.

The bigger question: what's going to stop J-Train from transferring? I wouldn't blame him one bit if he did.

He's already a junior. He's not going to lose a year of eligibility. I don't think there is much he can do.

JLane will probably stay. And I would not be surprised if he ends up as one of the weight room kings, just so that he can have a chance to increase his stock.

Rod Cole, the S&C coach will need to be JLane's best friend in the next off season.

Come on now Loftin. He is either leaving or staying but he aint' tranferring, and losing one year of eligibility!

I predict j-train will "accidentally" run over Coach Clipboard on the sideline (and why not - Fran will be working on the following week's game plan and will not even see him coming) and revenge will be complete.

He could go to I-AA and keep his senior eligibility.

Yeah, cause that'll help his NFL stock.

It helped Dustin Long's chances. He at least got to go to a training camp. If he had stayed here, no NFL team would have looked at him.
