Baylor's Guy Morriss has only two years left on his contract, a rarity for college football coaches. Simply put, the Bears better win this year or else.
Looks like Morriss is bracing himself for or else. He's already put his 6,000 square foot house on the market for $1.25 million. (http://www.homes.com/Content/ListingDetail.cfm?City=WACO&State=TX&FirstRec=1&Radius=0&Bedrooms=&FullBaths=&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=&PriceRange=&AmenitiesList=&PropType=%20&TotalRecs=310&PropIdList=49777728,48643461,52995456,55289006,407 90586,46732397,52672615,49824893,51075691&PropId=48643461#)
Good luck explaining that on the recruiting trails, Guy.
UPDATE: BearMeat (http://bearmeat.blogspot.com/2007/08/guymos-mcgregor-mansion-is-for-sale.html), a blog that cracks wise on all things Baylor, got an explanation from the realtor. Morriss' kids are all grown up, and he's "scaling down." Riiiiiiight.

I'm sure he'll stick around! I hope he does. Between him & Mike Leach, I always look forward to Media Day.

Dustin is right. Singletary would definitely be their next coach. He is the only person that might be able to get a big time recruit excited about playing at Baylor. With him as their coach, the offense might suck, but you know they would show up ready to knock some heads on defense.

That could be interesting... I am sure he'd be able to be a better recruiter, would have a longer leash from the bu $$$$$ & could make their defense better...

I have never been impressed with morris. He always seems to blame his players and others for the lack of success. Never seems to accept responsibility as a head coach.

He reminds me of an Old High School coach we had back in the day.....

well i think the have no chance at getting good recruits without getting to a bowl game?

baylor will always be a program that struggles as long as they are in a major conference. They will occasionally go to a bowl game, but overall they will always be behind the big state universities.

They operate with just too many negatives. They are the lowest budget team in the entire conference. Without money, it is hard to compete.

Getting to a bowl game isn't impossible for Baylor, but it will be darn tough. I haven't looked at their schedule, but they would need to go 4-0 non-conf and then take 2 from the north.

Even then, it is likely that they would end up like Kansas last year. Bowl eligible but all the other teams were selected and they were left at home.

He attended there. His son is now attending there. He hasn't gotten an NFL head job!

NFL assistants who are actually getting interviewed for head jobs do not go to Baylor.

End of story :bored:
