Obviously Arkansas did this last year a ton....
In a Goal LIne situation, would you want the "Train" to do the same with 3 TE's lined up with Alexander lined up next to him as the lead blocker????
In a 2nd & 5, would you want Goodson back there???
Maybe line up either RB next to McGee or Jerrod & then motion Jerrod or McGee out....
Thoughts??????

I think it would be good to see the direct snap to Lane in short yardage situations.
I wouldn't mind the direct snap but try and disguise it.

Not many are scared of McFadden throwing it either.... But it works for Arkie...

It cuts down the time needed to hit the holes... I like it...
And a good sweep play because goodson on his way already... I think would be effective for a while... to stun.

why not line up goodson as the QB and run a zone read with Lane on his right/left:wow:
oh the things we could've done with chad....

Hell we could run that play with Jerrod this year, next year & the year after...
And last I checked... McGee has made quite a few teams pay with that same play... See play after Chad's return...

lane actually played some QB in high school if you can imagine that, but I'm not sure if other teams would know about that. He can throw though..he is a a few games pulling a HB pass

Lane could be our Tebow, that would be scarey...they know he is going to get it and can't stop him

Bingo!!!! Plus that gives Lane an extra Blocker.... put all 3 TE's with Alexander & 1 WR like Taylor in the game & just pound on em...

I don't like the FB lined up next to him becuase he will have to delay a second to let Alexander get in front.

hey, im not discounting anything about how mcgee plays...im just saying, utilize ALL your playmakers(im just guessing chad's got a little more juice than mcgee and he's a downhill runner, so hitting the corner after faking to one of the backs shouldn't be a problem). maybe you get a big play, maybe you don't, but you're getting everyone involved; so you're utilizing all of your options and that speaks to recruits--maybe we get dez bryant or some other top WR prospect last year or the year before if we showed Chad got the ball a few more times a game. I'm not complaining, I'm just using that luxury I have as a fan to speculate, that's all;)

yes i know, and Fran has already said he might use him in that way. I was just saying that we (aggiefans) are talking about using him that way too

they should run it on 3rd & 2...
us being in the shotgun would really throw them off! ;)

I don't see the whole Tebow = Jerrod Johnson comparisons. Tebow came in because Leak wasn't a real strong running QB. That isn't the case with McGee. I would venture to say that at this point in their careers, McGee is a better runner & definitely better at running the option.

McGee is pretty damn good at the Option... He has his timing down with both Lane & Goodson...
I think that is something no one has really ever mentioned... Aside from one bad pitch against Army, McGee had a flawless season with the option game & seemed to make the right choice 9 outta 10 times......
