Was reading an ESPN article and it said Allen Patrick missed the first pre-season scrimmage because his ankle was in a cast because of a bad sprain. Trainers say it wasn't as bad as the one that kept him out of two games last year, but with Miami second on the schedule, that can be huge for OU.
Unfortunately, A&M doesn't play OU until November 11th, so I'm sure he'll be over this by then.

i sure would like to see how the miami defense holds up against a full force ou running game. i wonder if he will be back by then. additionally, having to slow down an ou ground attack might wear miami down a little making our rushing attack a little more potent against them.
but then again, miami having a big rushing D test before our game could actually help them out by giving them a chance to get battle tested before our big boys roll into the o.bowl.

Yeah, I'd rather them not face a full rushing attack like we'll bring. If OU's banged up and Miami wants to beat them, I'm okay with that. :)

All I know is he's bruised his knee and is day-to-day. I don't think he's going to miss any serious time -- just will take it easy early in the week is my bet.

He put up like 164 yards rushing on us last season. Not that I'm hoping for a broken leg or anything bad, but if was injured when we all play it will not hurt my feelings.

i hope OUR injuries that game against ou had a lot to do with why ou was able to run the fock over us. hopefully we will be healthy and improved from last year and this year we will be able to stop their running game even if it is at full force. especially with an inexperienced qb playing for them. although, i'm sure their qb will have some substantial playing time by the time our game with them rolls around.

Patrick is very good. However, OU has a couple of blue-chips behind him, so I'm sure they'll be ok.

we should be stronger against the run this year...
We SHOULD have stopped him last year...I thought it was more of a product of their o-line having their way w/ our D-line than anything...(and Red was out).
I'm not worried about Patrick...but AM worried (interested in seeing) how our D-Line will perform (especially down the stretch)

One thing to note is OU lost some good defensive players (including Rufus Alexander) -- he had a good game against us last year.
