this season:
tu is ranked #4
OU is ranked #8
last season:
tu was 9-3 (6-2) and ended season on 2 losses and a close bowl win against a less than mediocre Iowa team.
OU was 11-2 (7-1) w/ a Big 12 Championship and went to BCS bowl
Am I missing something? Why are they ranked SO high?

Not to mention what OU is bringing back compared to what t.u. is bringing back. They are the media darlings...there is no other explanation for it.

you mean t.u.? not sure. i think alot of people write off their late season troubles to mccoy's injury. but they've got a lot of holes and question marks. should be a good team, but a top 5 . . . ?
are you questioning ou at #8? that doesn't seem that off to me.

ou doesn't even have a quarterback right now. I'm more worried about oklahoma state than I am about oklahoma

They didn't have a QB last year & won the Big XII. They have won with a QB that was a WR weeks before the start of the season. They won with a QB who had 2 fake knees. They won with a JUCO kid in his first year as a starter. QB is not an area for concern for OU if everyone else does their job.

Agreed.... Stoops just recruits Excellent talent that covers up any flaw their QB's have.....
Most schools on the other hand need a QB so good that he covers up everyone elses flaws.....

well OU has just one weak spot and that's qb.

They are that high becuase they have Cart McCoy, who is the slower, less athletic, over-hyped, whiteboy version of VY

good point...didn't think about that.
I still fear OSU more than OU though

I don't think I would call QB a weakness for them anymore.... I'd call it a standard...

ou doesn't have a proven qb, but that doesn't mean they don't have a qb. they don't really lack anywhere else on the field, so it's not like the qb has to be all-world.
but yeah, tu has tons of holes or question areas, but they have a qb whom everyone raves about, so they're ranked higher. i think it's easy for these guys to focus on that one position and not worry about things like OL, etc. Basically overweighting the value of the position. QB is important, but it's not the only position that matters.

tu is a 3-4 loss team this year...too many holes to fill and their running game is a paper tiger because Jamaal Charles is not an every down back that can grind it out and Mack has to have that...it's the centerpiece of his offense.
OU could lose that many or win them all...

Predicted losses for tu.... OU, A&M & OSU...... :wow:

ttu seems like a stretch. i could see them losing to osu w/ their (tu) weak secondary and osu's offense.
