It's finally over...
Willie Mays was there...
Once it's on youtube...someone post it...
My reaction (initial)...seemed pretty cold towards his son (who was waiting @ home plate)...kind of brushed passed him & went to his teammates...

yeah, I just saw it too...
for some reason I knew it would happen tonight...(was 100% sure it would happen against the Nats)
strange story...Mike Bacsik's (the pitcher who served it up) dad (Mike Bacsik Sr) faced Aaron @ 755...:spy:

*Until he dies or his record is broken.
The Commissioner was not there tonight. He had to meet with his appointed investigator, George Mitchell, to discuss his plan on uncovering steroid use. How ironic.
Some of you may know Mr. Mitchell who was a former Senate Majority Leader and is a director of the Boston Red Sox.

that's not really the best record in baseball like almost everyone says(except aggiefans:cool: ) i think the cal ripken record is the best

Glad it is finally over. Now hopefully we will stop hearing about bonds and the giants can actually put someone in left field that can still play. You know it has to be frustrating to be bonds' replacement. Just waiting for him to break this record so you can get on the field.

I would've traded him to win.... not to get fans.. let them come to see you win a ring

I agree with you, but look how much the giant's organization has gained from this. They are over 10 games out and are packing the stadium every night. Couple that with concessions and memorabilia sales, they could not have made this much money if they were in the playoff race.

I thought Bacsik, handled it very well. He obviously wasn't happy being the one to give up the record, but in the post game interview I though he handled everything with extreme class and a good perspective.

Glad I didn't see it live. Didn't really care. Had it been any other clean player, I would have stayed up ever night until it happened.

I thought he sounded very excited this morning. Bonds gave him a bat and got to talk with him and so on and so forth. I remembering thinking this guy is WAY to happy to have given up a bomb.
I didn't see it live (by choice had no interest really, not worth staying up for). He may have sounded different last night when interviewed........

Problem is that it is hard to know who is clean and who isn't. Personally I believe there are a lot of players that have never been implicated because they only maintained their performance and did not progress like bonds.

I agree with it...but I think there are players that are doing great things and setting records that it is obvious they have never used it, Ichiro for one, and I really don't think Pujols has used them either.

Exactly. I don't think Griffey or Biggio ever used anything and they both hit some huge milestones this year.

First goal of a professional sports organization is to make money, not to win.
