How is Texas ranked #4 in the preseason poll? It's not that they're just #4, it's that they're ahead of #5 Michigan (who had 2 first place votes) and 4 spots ahead of Oklahoma who is favored to win the Big XII.
A&M squeaked in (surprisingly) at #25

Give them credit. They are coming off a season where they rallied back to win the Alamo Bowl against a 6-7 team. Why wouldn't they be #4?

As usual, there is all of this hype around t.u. :bored:
Here's to them not living up to that hype. :gig:

They finished their season losing to KSU, losing to A&M at home, barely beating a 6-7 team with some help from the zebras. From that team they lost 3 NFL draft picks in the secondary from a defense that was terrible against the pass. They also lost 2 NFL draft picks on an OL that had trouble at times protecting Glass Joe at QB. So explain to me again why they are getting hyped in the top 5? I see them as #3 in the Big 12 south and possibly #4 in the Big 12 if Nebraska's QB picks up where Taylor left off or if OSU's Reid ever lives up to the hype. I predict tu loses at least 3 games this year in the Big 12.

It's because they have Heisman Candidate "Snickers" McCoy

Charles is nothing to be afraid of..... Campbell, Williams, Benson & Taylor are the only RB's to really do a number on A&M.... Charles isn't in the same league as those guys & the fact that the A&M Defense gets to practice against Goodson, Stephens, Tarrant & others, makes them better prepared....

Charles is probably the fastest runner in the Big 12. However, he fumbles like crazy and couldn't even beat out lowly Selvin Young for a starting spot last year.

There is track fast & football fast... granted if he was lined up next to most if not all of the A&M Defenders he would win in a sprint...
But it's been shown that the last 2 years he hasn't been able to do anything against A&M....
I guess NC's really buy you a lot of slack from the media. That's the only thing I can think of.
Sad thing is one of the local radio guys had tu as number one in the state followed by TCU as number two. A&M came in third.

We would be a top 15 team if it wasn't for our schedule.

We would be a Top 15 team if we didn't get blown out by Cal.

Agree w/ 12th...
I see us as on par, equal with TN...our two teams are more similar when you look at them...except THEY don't have the (established) running attack & plethora of weapons that we have...
and they are ranked 15 :bored:
