An arrest warrant has been issued for Texas defensive tackle Andre Jones in connection with the robbery that landed Robert Joseph in jail last weekend.
The charge will be aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
Joseph, a sophomore safety who was suspended last month and then announced plans to transfer, was arrested last Saturday for the same offense. Joseph remained in Travis County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
The arrest warrant accuses Jones of being with a man known as “N.O.” or New Orleans. The warrant said the two broke into an apartment in East Austin, with N.O. pointing a gun at one of the occupants as well as a 14-year-old. N.O. asked for several items, including cell phones and gaming equipment.

Sure speaks to the quality of players they recruit into their organization and the leadership they provide them while they are on campus.

Mack needs to do something about this crap. Start kicking people off the team. I would hope Jones gets kicked off the team if this is true.

While he should..... I don't think he will.....

He should be kicked off for hanging out with a guy named N.O. and the retard Robert Joseph

pretty sure if this is true, he will be kicked off the team. that is some pretty serious stuff. but.....you never know about those austin folk. anything could happen. hell, he might be named team captain or something.

Yes, he'll be kicked off and nothing will happen to Sergio Kindle. :bored:

Well, Vly, in all fairness, holding someone up at gunpoint is a little different than DWI. I think its safe to say that most of us who drink have all gotten behind the wheel a time or two when we shouldn't have...I know I have. However, I doubt any of us have held anyone up at gunpoint!

I wouldn't want one of our players kicked off the team for a single DWI.

I didn't say that Kindle deserved to be kicked off. I just meant it as Mack will kick this guy off, say -- look at what we don't tolerate and since Kindle is "old news" now, nothing will ever happen to him.

Does the NCAA ever penalize schools with players like this????

Yes...its called "lack of institutional control." But it won't ever happen to a big program that doesn't have Barry Switzer as their coach.

Does anyone think that this could eventually effect recruiting????
With parents always being a focal point & often being a huge part of the process.... could this type of bad publicity eventually hurt the school???

Absolutely. Think about it. Mack's whole deal has always been sitting down with the mommas & telling them how he will take care of their boys. How much water does that hold these days?

So here's the latest on this story. Jones told Austin PD earlier in the week that he would turn himself in on Thursday. Well, he never showed up and noone can find him. Therefore, he is now considered an "armed and dangerous fugitive at large!" Wow, that will be crazy if he is really running from the Po Po.
Also, I thought the Austin media and sip fans would try and spin this, but they are not. This was the top story on every Austin news station yesterday and everyone I have heard talk about this is very pissed and is saying that Mack has lost control of the team. LOTS of negative pub on this in Austin.

Yeah I know it's pretty funny. Bucky and E were trying to ease the pain but the callers were seriously fed up.

I agree with you and think this is exactly how we would be reacting if we were seeing the same situation happen here. Something has to be done with the program to stop this kind of behavior and negative publicity.

I have heard alot of the same.... I think Joseph broke the camels back on the t-sips patience with the conduct of the team.....
Buddy of mine (sip) said he relates the off-the-field problems with their performance on the field....
He said I wont take anything away from OSU, KSU, A&M or Iowa, but if Mack was a great a coach as we think he is, he would have had the team better prepared, but obviously he didn't & it showed on the field & issues like this show that it's only getting worst...
