A reporter in Pittsburg is in trouble for saying on the air that "Vick would have been better off raping a woman." Sure, I understand why some people might be offended by that, but what he said is 100% true. You can't tell me that this would be as big a story if he was only accused of raping a woman. It wouldn't be. It would be no big deal. That is the way our society is. Harm to animals is worse than harm to humans in most cases.

Everybody knows the organzied support group that is established to protect animals (PETA).

I must confess that I don't know of one that is there for rape victims although I am sure there is one.

If he had raped instead, it would be news, but there would be discussion on is she lying or not.

Fighting dogs don't lie I guess.

I heard on the radio that people were trying to justify what Vick was doing by comparing these dogs to UFC fighters and how dog fighting should be no big deal. The problem is that these dogs are not given a choice and are forced to be doing what they are doing. But honestly, if it was just dog fighting, I don't think this would be as big a deal as it is. I think it is the torture and killing of the dogs that are getting people so upset.

One of those people making the UFC comparison was Ladanian Tomlison! With some many big name NFL players (Emmitt Smith, LT, Portis) seeming to be in support of Vick, it makes me wonder just how many NFL players have been involved in this before?

You think all these athletes & rappers own pit bulls because they love dogs? Give me a break! This thing could bring down people from other professional sports & the hip hop industry. I wouldn't be surprised to see Big Boi & Andre mentioned next.

Either one is awful. Rape makes me more angry than anything else on the planet. I think society percieves women as self-defendable (a little), where animals are considered helpless.

My personal opinion & how society looks at things are WAY different! F a dog, as far as I'm concerned....kill'em all, I don't care! But you start hurting my women folk & we're going to have a problem. Unfortunately, society doesn't see things that way, & the statement that the radio guy made was 100% spot on. Really makes you question the world we live in.

This is exactly what I have been saying all along. There are so many other things vick could have done and be in less trouble. Harming an animal is one of the worst things to do in regards to the amount of negative attention it brings.

only a few things make me "fightning angry"
hurting a woman or mistreating a child...
