So the Rangers traded Kenny Lofton for a class A catcher. WTF is jon daniels doing? That's all I want to know. You trade a guy who is batting .300 in the majors for a guy who is batting .300 at Class A. Wow that makes a helluva a lot of sense. Weren't we supposed to be getting pitching? Maybe we'll at least try to get a Double A prospect for Teixeira. This is going to be interesting. I've said it before and I'll say it again. This franchise is doomed and will never be good as long as the current front office stays, and that goes all the way to the owner.

Sounds like we'll get Salty or Kotchman for him plus some prospect pitchers including possibly jo jo reyes who I think has some major league experience.

I know nothing about that prospect they got, but trading a guy who was only on a one year contract is the right thing to do. You're not going to resign him next year anyway, so you might as well get something for him now.
Houston needs to do the same thing and get rid of Loretta.

well a 40 something year old center fielder about to go into the dog days of august only signed through the year and has not had more than 500 AB since like 02 or 03 (meaning he is over 300 ABs now and don't know how the extra at bats will wear on him) isn't really worth a lot.

after a little research I found that Max Ramirez the catcher the the Rangers received is the 11th rated in the Indians system with a great stick but glove work needs to be developed more...over all seems to have alot of potential...so not a bad deal for yall

When I posted that I was pretty irate about the deal. Now that I've had some time to digest it, I still don't like it. Pitching i thought was supposed to be our number 1 thing we're going after. I just don't like the idea of trading him and not getting a pitcher in return. Hell this kid may turn out to be a badass and i'll be eating crow, but right now i would've rather took my chances on a Class A pitcher than a Class A catcher.
