Anybody see this as a ploy for Notre Dame to break away from "Big 10" opponents so they don't get forced to join since they play a lot of them every year?
Notice this quote: "
Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White last week announced that Oklahoma would replace Michigan for two years after the current contract expires.
White said the goal is to play in different parts of the country in an attempt to return Notre Dame to its independent roots."

I thought the same thing. There is no way that ND wants to join another conference. They get to establish their own rules (tv contracts, etc) and get all the benefits of the BCS (what little benefits there are).
I would like to play Michigan but what BB really needs to get on is drumming up support for a Big 12 Network. I keep seeing commercials for the Big 10 network and it's hacking me off.

ND plays nationally so it can recruit nationally. Road games=easy to attend unofficial visits.
I'd love to play Michigan...hell I'd rather load up the schedule and have a couple of losses than play a bunch of putzes.
I do have to give it to Stoops he does schedule a couple of doosies year in and year out in non conference.

shouldn't we look at playing in the northwest just to stick it to the seattle fans?

I'd rather play a SEC team but Mich. would be kinda sweet. I like to see A&M and UF home and home. Tebow vs McGee, Fran vs Meyer(take 3), Gators come to Kyle field and we go to the Swamp.:gig:

I agree a home and home with UF would be fun. There are a lot of teams out there that I would like to see the Ags play. Hopefully I will see most of them in the BCS championship game.

Yeah, I'd prefer that we play some SEC teams. Especially the SEC West, since we have a history w/ Arkansas and LSU. And playing in the southeast might help us pick up a coupla good out of state recruits, but i don't see us getting many guys or wanting many guys from the midwest.
