Tex for Saltalmacchia? http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070724&content_id=2105934&vkey=news_tex&fext=.jsp&c_id=tex
I've heard analysts say Salt has the chance to be one of the best hitters in the league.

I have come to believe that no matter what the Rangers do, it will not work.

yes, as long as they can get a pitching prospect as well. i dont think they make this deal straight up...
Not if the Astros can get him first.

Well my two cents is that Daniels is a Jon Hart guy and he's an idiot, so no matter what he does, it won't work. 97 hit it on the head. Until Tom Hicks no longer owns the Rangers and they get a completely new front office, they will never win a championship

this would be a good deal for the rangers (coming form an Astros fan)...Salty is going to be a perennial All-Star...and Tex can and will walk away after the '08 season.
You would not need a good caliber pitching prospect in the deal (maybe one as a throw in with potential but not a can't miss guy) to make this a good deal. A catcher with his bat are very hard to come by....he is going to be a great player...now only if the astros can figure out a way to get him ;)

well hell, i'm sure daniels will trade him for next to nothing once we get him, just tell the stro's front office to offer him a bag of peanuts for this salty guy and i'm sure he'll be in houston

Salty is a great. Braves have McCann locked up and Cox refuses to place Salty at first cause he sucks at fielding
