Yeah stern is screwing up all the time. Now with this betting case they've pretty much known he had gambling problems and kept letting him referee.

I was happy to see the league suspend vick. He has no business showing up for work until this mess gets settled.

Amen to that. Until he is cleared of all this (which I kinda doubt since the govnt took its sweet time preparing this case), he shouldn't be around the game.

The league and the ASPCA are working on a program to educate players about the proper treatment of animals.
Why do groups do this kind of crap. It isn't as though these people didn't know "the proper treatement of animals." The mess Ron Mexico is in is due to his own disregard for the law. A better program would be educating the players on having some class and getting away from the 'hood they grew up in.

I agree with you. This is a big waste of time. Do you really think if a program would have been in place prior to vick getting indicted that it would have changed his mind on dog fighting? I really doubt it.

This is how the league gets past the picketing and boycotting that's happening by members of this group. PETA people would say, "I'm boycotting Falcons games, etc" -- so the NFL is trying to say, our players aren't like him, "we've educated them and we don't condone it"
They're just trying to make peace.

I understand what they are trying to do, but it is a lame attempt in my book. It will not change anyone's behavior.

Well, the Atlanta manager was ready to punish him to the fullest extent possible (Suspension), but the commish had to tell them to hold off until the league finishes it's investigation.
If I was Vick, I wouldn't expect to ever suit up for Atlanta again.

I agree. I don't think he will be the Atlanta QB ever again. I believe the team will release him regardless of how this thing turns out.
