that title he was given probably hurt his career with too high of expectations placed on him. yeah, during his first stint with the rockets, he was a good player. but he was never and never will be a "Franchise" type of player.

Yeah that was the problem. I don't think he really wanted it but the Rockets were desperate to have a franchise player so he became it.

If healthy, Snyder should play that spot. I expect us to just cut Lucas and Tsakalidis, since they don't have any trade value, anyway.

How much longer is Sura's contract? That's been our biggest handicap in free agency. He hasn't played since that playoff series with Dallas in '05.

As far as acquiring Francis goes, I like it. We loaded up on PGs, but we don't have any that are good enough to start on a contender. Francis fills that spot, with Brooks and James to back him up. I expect us to trade Alston, since we drafted a PG and signed 2 others through free agency. That sends a pretty clear message that our GM doesn't want him running the offense.

Fantastic deal for Houston. They got rid of Francis when his trade value was as high as possible, got McGrady for him and unloaded Cato's crappy contract. Now, they get him back for pennies on the dollar and have a PG that can run the team. This will allow T-Mac to actually play SG instead of having to run the point like he has been forced to do lately.

Exactly. We now have three all-stars on our lineup, with young potential (Brooks, Scola, Novak) and veteran role players (Battier, Mutombo, James). This team is finally coming together.
