Teenage Bottlerocket. They remind me of early 90's pop punk bands from the Lookout Records/ Berkley, Bay area scene (Screeching Weasel, MTX, Early pre-Dooke Green Day) If you don't know that scene you should. It is immitated alot but only one in a thousand get it right: They do. Kody, the guitarist and one of the singers (the good one) was in The Lillingtons which some may know.
Free download/streams: The whole CD is amazing but here are two songs. Listen to So Cool.

And another one I just started listening to yesterday. Jamison Parker. I just heard of them and they are maybe too poppy for me but I'm digging them for some reason. For all I know they may be already really popular right now but I just heard of them. They are playing in both San Antonio and Austin the end of August. I'll probably check them out in Austin at Emos.
Jamison Parker: (Once again, free and legal downloads/streams)

Anyway, I'm bored. So there is my random bored post. Listen to Teenage Bottlerocket.

No..you need to check out Self Against City. I grew up with the lead singer and he actually played guitar in my band for about one week. Who knew he could sing!! That's the one thing we were lacking and that led to our parting ways. Now he's fronting SAC and they were the first band signed to Rushmore Records (of Drive-Thru Records).
Check them out.

And support him by buying his cd!

Wow, you didn't know he could sing? He is freaking good.
How small is the World when they are touring with the band I just mentioned above: Jamison Parker? Playing the Sanctuary in San Antonio on 8/30 and Emo Austin on 8/31 so I'll definatly check them out on one of those dates....
And that is the first I have heard of Rushmore Records. I guess that is the new thing: Indy labels sprout even more indier labels. Like Honest Don's records from Fat Wreck Chords.
I'll buy his CD when I see them. ;)

It's funny, when he played for us, he was shy...he didn't even like being near the front on stage -- now he's the freakin' lead singer of a national touring band. Talk about being close to making it (closer than you think)...if he only he would've said -- "hey guys, I can kind of sing"...I'd be the one touring nationally -- but then again, Aggiefans.com wouldn't be here then, so maybe it's a good thing for you guys. ;)

Damn generational gap. I think I'll stick to Classic Rock. I can't handle the new stuff.

There are two bands my band has played with who are from the belton/temple area...Greatness In Tragedy and Flyleaf (formely Passerby). I will post you link to their sites/music when I get home.
i'm also really into My Chemical Romance right now. They're a national act and not really an unknown. They're harder, but you might like 'em.

Not really an unknown, but more people should listen to Rammstein.

Try listening to Gooding: http://www.goodingband.com
They are one of my favorites. They have lots of full song samples on their site. http://www.goodingband.com/newsite/music.htm
Thought you may enjoy. If you only download one of their songs, go for "Rank and File" or "Slow Burn"

K, here's the links I promised.
Flyleaf is a band from here (Temple, TX). The bass player (the scary one with crazy hair :D) and his sister came to our house all the time last year. They are signed to Octone Records, same as Maroon 5. You can watch their video here...at launch.com
http://search.music.yahoo.com/search/?m=all&p=flyleaf
just click play video. They are really good live...(but have a girl singer -- just warning in case you don't like it).
Their website is http://www.flyleafmusic.com
