Texas Tech's win over Texas A&M this year marked the ninth win over the Aggies in the last 12 games and gives the tards a two-game win streak. The Aggies maintain a slight advantage in the overall series as they lead 34-30-1.

I know it is early, but commentary is worthy on this subject for obvious reasons (see above if you're not convinced). Let me state right off the bat that I am not fomenting or advocating trouble for coach Fran, However, I am concerned about is this trend. This is simply unacceptable for a University of our caliber. We are not SFA, Texas State, or North Texas. We out recruit these guys big time and offer tremendous facilities, crowd attendance, etc.
(because I pay and I know). So what is the problem??:mad:

We beat them this year. This is the youngest team and lack of depth team Leech will put on the field since he's been their. I see us taking over in the 2nd half, finally killing the Lubbock demons that haunt us, and Fran earns some praise. We win 35 17.:gig:

I agree with Dustin. As much as a slip up against Tech would piss me off, beating tu and OU is more important in the recruiting and "respect" factor.

And before I get labeled a facilitator of this downward trend (or accepting mediocrity -- or whatever), it pisses me off that we have lost to them recently and expect to beat the hell out of them in Lubbock this year.

i don't think there should be any doubt that the ou and tu games are more important games. but we should beat tech also.

i've been on record as saying any in-state game is important to win (tech, baylor and tu because those are in-state rivals). Yes, I said rivals. Anybody you compete with regularly in recruiting (and in-state, we cross paths with all 3), then they're rivals.

Beating TU and OU more important??? For recruiting purposes? Look at the logic you are suggesting. "Hey, I'll go to A&M, they beat ARCH rival Texas (a game where stats are out the window, over 100 year rivalry), but they can't beat a small D-I school like Tech where A&M out recruits, etc. in EVERY category...they must be the logical choice %&*^%)@$##".

Beat TU and OU, as prestigious as a win as you may think it is...is negated by loses to inferior opponents like tech. I'm sick of seeing pompous Aggies spell tech, tceh, when maybe we are the tards! When they win, it says something for their program an achievement, however, for us, it spells...well I think you know what it spells. Obsessing on Texas or OU is fine IF YOU BEAT ALL THE LITTLE TEAMS FIRST.:gig::cool:

all wins are important, but Shag i don't think most recruits look at a loss to tech as negating wins over ou and tu. i really don't know though. let's just beat all of them this year.

So Shag, beating OU and TU, but losing to TTU will cause recruits to not want to come here because we lost to the Red Raiders? I don't see the logic. Beat the big boys if you want:
1) The recruits
2) The media attention
3) The tv games
