Looks like someone made up a story hoping for hush money.

Good to hear that. But the fact that both Henry and McNeal have had run ins with the law only make them targets for this type of false accusation. They need to start living a "squeaky clean" life style or it will continue to happen to them.

There are a lot of pro athletes that should listen to that advice.

Of course, if these were sip players we were talking about & then this happened, we would be calling major pay-off to the victim's family by the accused. But, whatever.

LOL....I was wondering how long it would take Dustin or White to insinuate a payoff. Sounds like we need some Reggie bashing t-shirts, yet another CJA, you are chasing off recruits, yada yada yada, etc, etc. ;)

I'm not afraid to go on record in saying that some kind of payoff might have happened. Had Chris Henry been the only player called out in this story, then I could buy that it was made up. However, why in the hell would someone throw Reggie's name in there? What does that add to the story? He is a no name NFL backup. No way his name is convienently thrown in there if this really didn't happen. Just my opinion.

Nice. Could be guilty, could be innocent, but either way, why would you be afraid to go on record saying either one MIGHT have happened.
I am not afraid to go on record saying both Fran MIGHT prove to be the best coach ever AND Fran MIGHT prove to be the worst coach ever.

I say "might" b/c noone knows for sure. I think the chances of some under the table deal is a lot more likely than it not happening.

With all the ciritcism I received for "blind faith," it is unbelievable the amount of blind HATE some of y'all have for Aggie athletes.

Its not blind hate....but like I asked....tell me what we would all be saying if these were two sip players & the details of this story went down exactly like they have. We would be saying that they were paid to make the story go away. So explain to me why we should treat it any differently just because the names are changed. His TRACT (for white) record speaks for itself.

I always assume the worst and accuse sip players. I hate their athletic program and want them to look bad. What excuse do you have for wanting the same thing for Aggies?

Do you think we want Aggies to look stupid, make an ass of themselves, and shed a bad light on A&M? I want Reggie to be a successful NFL player and a good citizen. That would be great. However, I know that neither will happen.

If I knew the facts about Reggie were so bad(which they aren't), I would just not ever bring it up. You and P-Ville put forth a concentrated effort to try and make everyone believe Reggie McNeal is a horrible person.

So if I understand Loftin correctly, it is almost like many of those who defend Fran tooth and nail, will throw their fellow Aggies to the dogs. It is almost like he is trying to say that many of those who seem to scream Fran bashing, are in fact Aggie haters. Interesting point Loftin.....very interesting.

Loftin, it wasn't any of us that just came on here bringing up a bunch of bad things. It was provoked by people coming on here & acting like Reggie McNeal was the best thing to ever happen to Aggie football &/or saying that he wasn't a bad person.
I don't care who the person is being discussed, but if someone is trying to build a person up while ignoring the facts about his transgressions, then I gonna react.

Everything I've ever said in defense of Reggie McNeal was just that: defense. Who posted the allegations about Reggie? Who posted his arrest months ago? If y'all never talked about Reggie, I probably wouldn't either (besides rare mentions of what he did on the field).
On the flipside, if someone smears an Aggie and exaggerrates alleged transgressions, then "I gonna react."

This whole deal began about two years ago when people like yourself were hailing Reggie McNeal as the 2nd coming & blaming all the problems on the coaching staff. All anyone did from that point forward was try to educate the ignorant. But, true to form, the ignorant remain that way because of their unwillingness to listen & to learn.
So now people are out of line if they post about Aggies being arrested? Close your eyes, turn your head, sweep it under the rug--is that your mentality? Your thinking is asinine!

I like that bolded statement. Please read it out loud to yourself Dustin. Reggie was cleared of charges, and you still compare him to PacMan and OJ. Get a life.
As to that second part, I'm not saying to sweep anything under the rug. I'm just saying there's no use for airing an Aggie's dirty laundry in an effort to smear his name. If he's guilty of something, let the authorities handle it. You seem to be the chief prosecutor against an Aggie Legend in the court of public opinion. Why?

exaggerrates alleged transgressions
wouldn't this go both ways???
example: couldn't you exaggerate a transgression to NOT be a transgression?
ex: by saying "he was not involved" when you have just as much evidence as if he had a baseball bat in hand, but just didn't swing it...?

I disagree about the "airing dirty laundry" part...that is done by the media/press...
everyone else (other fan sites) could be talking about this & say "hmm, I wonder what fellow Aggies think about this" and come over here & if we were all like you, we'd be defending him no matter what...and frankly, look a little silly, despite mounting (circumstantial, and some relevant) evidence.
I'd rather be on the side of "right" than be someone who defends at all costs. I see your arguement & understand your side (seriously)...just don't agree.
I try to imagine what I would say to my little girl if she were reading the article...
"NO, Reggie would never do that, he's an Aggie..."
or,
"sometimes, people make mistakes & that is what happens when you hang around those kind of people"

I have yet to see ANY evidence. This is where we disagree. Everyone states Reggie's guilt like it's an undisputable fact, yet there isn't ANY evidence and he's cleared of any charges.
Everyone on the Franwagon blames Reggie for 2005, and have been on a witch hunt against him.

Don't forget his stellar record against t.u. and Baylor.
Also should be noted that he is the only Aggie QB that I know of that actually asked to NOT start a game against the sips.
