Name an opponent or opponent(s) you would like to see on our future schedule as a non-conference opponent.
I would like to see: 1) Georgia, 2) Auburn, 3) Iowa, 4) Penn State, or
5) USC or California. :gig:

I like the military schools. Auburn would be cool. Michigan

I'd like to see a Home and Home with Tennessee.

Not LSU...they already steal enough recruits from TX. We don't need to allow them a big time show on our stage. We have more to lose than gain from that series.

And thought we had problems with tech fans. Thats why I think Auburn would be so much fun.

Dustin -
If that's the case, how did we ever turn the tide againsdt them, not once, but twice? In the 1970's they played us until we started winning. In the 80's and 90's they did the same. At the start of each run, LSU was the power, at the end of each run, we were. If this series was/is such a drain on recruiting, how were we able to turn the tide against them both times?

I didn't say that we couldn't beat them or that it would be a drain on recruiting, I'm just saying that we have more to lose than to gain from it. Especially with the coach they have there now who has already proven that he can recruit the hell out of Texas. We allow them to play us here & they put a beating on us, like they are very capable of doing at this juncture, & we will see more & more recruits leaving the state & going to LA. Look at the increased number of recruits leaving & going to OK since OU & OSU have turned their programs around. The Red River Shoot-out is a recruiting hotbed for Stoops every single October.

As much as I would like for us to play LSU, I agree with Dustin. If we go to Baton Rouge and win, we are most likely not going to lure a big name LA recuit away from LSU. But if LSU comes to TX and beats us, then they will most likely gain some recruits from the state. Its unfortunate, but that is the way it works.

Hell yes, let's do LSU and beat Miles again

I'd like to see us play Michigan or one of the Florida teams.

We used to recruit Louisianna pretty hard and get kids out of there. A few even were able to make a play or two, like that Bucky something or other. ;)

We do have Michigan St coming up in 2010 or so. But I wouldn't mind someone like Boston College home and home. Or someone we have never ever met or only met once in history, such as Arizona or Arizona State.

Mac, one, I don't think anyone is saying that we can't get guys out of LA. We got Flip Perry this year. Jason LeDoux a while back. Jay Lucas also came from LA I think. But the key was big name recruits. And while Bucky ended up being a great QB at A&M, I don't think he was a big name recruit out of high school.

Of the top of my head, here are a few:
East Coast: Florida, West Virginia, Boston College, Maryland (for selfish reasons)
North(ish): Wisconsin, Michigan, Louisville
South(ish): Georgia, Arkansas, South Carolina
West: Cal, USC, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington
AZ or AZ State would be good, Purdue might be good, and for selfish reasons and a heck of a trip Hawaii :p, maybe Syracuse if they get their act back together.

Hmmm, we do need an away game or 2 with Hawaii. Maybe a two for one. We go to Honolulu twice and they come to CS once.
Believe it or not, a road trip for Hawaii is a big deal. Especially out of conference.

Baylor. I would love to play them as a future non-conference game.
But back to Reality...... SC (Perfect game. Awesome road trip to SoCal), Alabama, LSU, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame(again)
Home and Aways with Michigan and OSU would be cool for road trips to check out thier environment. I'm sure it's awesome over there.

These two are easily the ones I want to see the most. Playing Arkansas in Dallas every year would be a great way to get out of playing Tech every year(at a neutral site).
Arkansas
LSU
These are also games that I'd like to see:
Michigan State(already scheduled)
Iowa
Notre Dame
TCU
Miami(already scheduled)
Kentucky
Arizona State
Oregon
New Mexico
Alabama
Auburn
Georgia
South Carolina
North Carolina
Syracuse
Houston
Navy
Colorado State
Marshall
Purdue
UTEP
Ole Miss
Miss. State
