I heard on the radio yesterday that the sips backup QB (Matt Norgren) might not be able to play this year. He has already completed his BA degree and was going to go to grad school and use his last year of eligibility. But, he is having trouble getting into grad school at t.u. and might not be able to take classes this fall.
If this is true, it will be hilarous. I bet the sips are sweating this one like crazy. One big hit on VY and in comes true fish Colt McCoy. Let's see them win a MNC with a 2A QB with no college experience!

I wouldn't get your hopes up....this is t.u we're talking about. I'm sure they'll make sure he gets in.

I'm sure it won't happen, but it would be funny as hell if it did. I went over to hornfans to see if it was even being discussed, but it was not (go figure). I'm sure any thread about it got deleted immediately.
Changing the subject slightly, I love how hypocritical sips are. They are all bitching about how Aggies all over Texas are making fun of the grammar (or lack there of) of their recruits that were interviewed last night. I would tell you what the recruits said if I could have understood them myself. They are saying how little class we have saying things like that about their future players. But, directly under that thread is one called "Jovorskie Lane - Disgusting Fatbody". So its okay to make fun of an Aggie player, but not a sip player. Makes sense to me. Stupid longhorns.

Nothing "funny" about this for the player. I like it for Texas but please...let's not bash the kid

Actually, it is kind of funny. Its not like that he can't get into grad school somewhere else. Its just that he didn't make the grades at t.u. to get into t.u.'s grad program. And its really funny for their football team because they will only have two QBs on campus. And Colt McCoy looked like a better punter than a QB last night.

The point is, we all know that he isn't going to grad school for any other reason but to be able to play football for one more year. Thats what makes this possibility so funny.

I never bashed the kid. Dustin hit the nail on the head. This guy is only trying to get into grad school b/c the t.u. football program needs a backup QB this year. If they would have been able to recruit a QB in 2003 or 2004, then I guarantee you that he would not be in school this semester.
Just to prove my point, I went to the sip website to see what his bio was. He graduated last semester with a double major in government and business. Not a bad background. So what do you think he is going to grad school for? MBA..nope. Try a Masters of Kinesiology.

He'll get in. No big deal. Non issue in fact.

texas will "find a way" to get him into grad school. no way they let themselves go into a season with 2 qbs.

The rumor was actually whether he could get into law school or not.
He is already in grad school, so that is a non-issue.
But yes, the law school transfer thing was blown out of proportion.
He'll be there this fall. :D

It's not like UT's law school (or grad school in general) is cake walk. I can totally see it as a problem for some. I'm not even close to being qualifed to go to grad school at UT and I'm not a QB either so I would be **** out of luck.
But I'm glad he got everything settled and ready to play some football. Even if he is from UT. ;)

Thanks for the clarification Pablo. I was repeating what the guys on AM1300 were talking about yesterday afternoon. If what you say is true, then they were grossly misinformed.

Let's see them win a MNC with a 2A QB with no college experience!
Let's see them win a conference championship with Vince Young healthy. I'd be shocked if that happened!

Not me. I've got the blinders on. :p

When you show up for your first day as a freshman at UT, do they hand out those blinders to all the new fish as part of your orientation? Just seems like its hard to find a longhorn w/o his standard issue blinders.
