Dr. Hesby who headed up the Animal Science School at A&M passed away. I took his class & he was a great man that did a lot for a bunch of Ags & his school. Very Sad.

Sounds like a proffessor who worked for a living and cared about students, a rarity!
It sounds like he will be missed. My prayers go to his family.

I took his class, and knew Dr. Hesby personally. Let just say that there aren't many professors like him, he was a great teacher and even more importantly a great person. I was shocked to learn of his passing a few days ago. Truly sad, and a tremendous loss for the university and Animal Science Department.

Good Dr. Hesby story. Being an Ag class & all, we had a lot of athletes (go figure) in our Animal Science class. He brings in a half dozen chickens & starts passing them around the room for every to see. Live chickens in the big auditorium of Kleberg. Then he brings in a Holstein to the front of the auditorium & gets Harold Robertson (played LB in the late 90s) to come down so he can show him how to milk a cow. Harold gets on a stool & gets underneath there & the first pull was like turning on a hydrant. He pulled on the teet & the Holstein started dropping patties. All over the floor in the auditorium, all over Dr. Hesby, & of course all over Harold. Harold was screaming like he had just seem a ghost & couldn't get off that stool fast enough. Dr. Hesby is cracking up laughing for at least 5 minutes. He finally quits laughing long enough to say, "Sometimes all you want is milk, but you end up with...." & he starts laughing again. I'll never forget that day nor will I ever forget all he did for me during my time in Aggieland.
