I didn't realize the athletic dept. was it's own travel agent now. $1600 round trip sounds like a pretty good deal. Too bad I'm poor :sad:

$300 for hotel wed-sunday? the hotel for the trip is the Ritz-Carlton...i think it might be $300 a night.

and i was saying that the $1600 wasn't all that much for the trip package considering what you are getting, NOT that you couldn't go for cheaper if u made the arrangements yourself.

what does that package being a good deal for the price and what you get have to do with the fact that you can go for less?

I love Condo's and being on the beach, but a Condo in Lauderdale is a far cry from the Ritz Carlton in Miami if you are talking about luxury, etc.

That's not a bad price for said hotel...which is either cool or really sad...probably both.

Me I'd probably choose the condo a bit farther out as I don't need to be "in the mix".

actually, you said that an idiot might do the $1600 package thinking it was a good deal. looking at the number and what you get, it does seem to be a good deal for what you get and the price you pay.

the fact that you can go for less is a completely different issue and not related to the comment you made about someone being an idiot if they thought the $1600 was a good deal.

some people like to stay in something better than a La Quinta...
ALSO, this is probably not the Southwest fun fares deal...considering they don't fly to Miami, but do to FTL...this is probably through American or Delta...
For THOSE people...this is a good deal...and a nice weekend getaway in Miami...

but to each their own...

1. staying in a nice hotel for a high price isn't throwing money away. you pay for service. that's what a hotel is about.

2. thinking payingt $300 is stupid is not what makes you a clown. calling someone an idiot that wants to pay $300 a night for a hotel is what makes you a clown.
