Well, now that the funeral is over for Josh Hancock, his family has decided to sue everybody that they think they can get money from. They are suing the restaurant, the tow truck company that he hit, the tow truck driver, and the owner of the car that broke down. They are claiming all are responsible for his death and should pay the family money.

Never mind that the FAMILY had to know the kid was an alcoholic and at his age should have been responsible for his own decisions.

Why can't people take responsibility for their own actions.

What a POS. Accept responsibility for your son's actions.

I love this from the article:

The lawsuit claimed Tolar was negligent in allowing the vehicle to reach the point where it stalled on the highway and for failing to move it out of the way of oncoming traffic.
Hargrove parked the tow truck behind the stalled car, and police said he arrived there moments before the truck was struck by Hancock's SUV. Kantack said the tow truck may have been there up to 15 minutes, yet failed to get the stalled vehicle out of the way.

Pathetic :bs:

CaliAg....do we know that the kid was an alholic! I know lots of people who have driven drunk, but I don't think a lapse in judgement makes them an alcoholic!

That being said, the law suit is complete :bs:

he had shown up late drunk or hungover to several games in the weeks leading up to the accident. The cardinals had fined him $500 for being too hung over to pitch. All this leads me to believe he was an alcoholic.

I'm a Cardinals fan, and I appreciated Josh Hancock. I don't always believe ESPN on this kind of thing, but so many news sources parrallel what they printed. People are ridiculus these days. Suing in America needs to be more regulated SOMEHOW. Although I don't want it to hurt someone, maybe there needs to be what is called common sense in evaluating case validity. Why are the inocent bystanders responsible for the death of someone just because they happen to be there?

I was thinking of a movie line that Samuel L Jackson made. I don't remember which movie it was but he said that.:D

No. I was saying that sometimes ESPN makes stories bigger than they are, but in this case there are so many other news venues that covered it the same way. The lawsuit is ridiculus and I hate it. There are some many selfish people out there willing to sue someone for spilling their beer, and even more people suing someone for no reason (the Hancocks).
