Which third baseman would you rather have-----Blalock or Ensberg

Personally I don't know which one....I think Ensberg might have the edge in Defense other than that I don't know

Give me Blalock any day of the week!

I was thinking Blalock too...but he just isn't that good he seems to regress every year ( I never really watch him, or care really, because he plays for a crap ass team so my evaluation of him could be wrong)

A 2 time All-Star isn't that good?

I mean where he is now...he ever since he hit that homerun in the all star game it seems he regresses every year....ensberg was an all star too who also has regressed

I don't watch a lot of the Rangers either, Pinetar, but anyone has to be better than Ensberg! The real question is Lamb or Blalock. :)

He has regressed a little, but this year before he got hurt he had his BA back up to .285 with 5 Homeruns (3 in his last 4 games), and 16 RBI's. He was starting to put things back together and was getting into the groove. Really sad to see him get hurt when he did.

regressed a little?? the guy went from a 30 HR 100+ RBI around .300 all star followed up by progressively less productive seasons finally ending with hitting .266 with 16 HR 89 RBI last year....I would say he regressed more than a little bit

and this year is was only 5 HR I believe...and he played for all of a month and a half leaving plenty of time to get his number back to the subpar .265 16 HR range

What a silly question. Blalock by a mile! Except he's hurt
Some people here don't get the fact the Hank Blalock is actually really good.

Based on his numbers and potential. He's young and powerful. His only weak point is his lack of walks. Although I would also suggest he is probably an average 3B. I'll admit I don't watch the Rangers much, but his number show he is good with the bat and has a lot of power. He is also a consistant RBI machine. Is he just bad in the clutch?

People also complain about Teixeira. Anybody batting over .300 and on pace for 35HR and over 100RBIs is a frontrunner for MVP, not a letdown.

AVG: .307 HR: 8 RBI: 29 OBP: 390 SLG: .525 OPS: .915
