This guy is a great aggie. I met him and his family after the Colorado game a few years ago during a player/family BBQ. They are one of the nicest families that I have ever met. Sucks that his pro career was so short.
The former All-East Texas performer at Chapel Hill is coaching football at Trinity Valley Community College.
Not only will he be coaching the Cardinals, but he also will coach the Packers. At TVCC he is in charge of receivers and kick returners, but in Green Bay he will work with the quarterbacks.
While coaching at TVCC and with the Packers, Murphy is earning his Master's Degree in finance. He started the program at A&M, but now may finish it up at UT Tyler or UT Austin.
The coaching jobs are not only the big news for Murphy as he is engaged to Erica Calabrese of Sugar Land, who just happens to be a senior at Texas.
"We go back-and-forth all the time about Texas A&M and Texas," said the smiling Murphy.
