Look, don't get me wrong. I'm a Cardinals fan, so I have NO ROOM to boast. But Oswalt can't pitch any better than 0 runs in 7 innings. He still doesn't win? Good grief. Look, the Cardinals have the LOWEST run total in baseball. I mean, behind the Nationals! So as frustrating as the Astros are... at least you are not the Cardinals.

Lamb's screw up last night is the perfect example of why you people that want to see Everett on the bench b/c he is not a good hitter are wrong. Lamb might be a good hitter, but he sucks defensively and it cost us the game last night.

astros will win the division with a 92 & 70 record !

What does Lamb have to do with Everett?

Put Loretta at short & lets get some sticks in the lineup! Lamb's error only allowed one run! If there are some hitters in the lineup then we don't make a rookie look like Cy Young & one run doesn't matter!

the rook had good stuff...plain & simple...
one run in a 2-1 game is a lot...
There ARE hitters in the lineup as is...no one could touch this guy last night & it came down to Lamb's error(s). Plain & simple.

Again, what does Lamb have to do with Everett?

Plain and simple the Astros can no longer afford to carry any dead weight in the lineup.

I know Hunter Pence didn't shine last night but that boy is fantastic. What the heck was he doing in the minors? Unfortuneately after him we have no major prospects.

Lincecum has some nasty stuff....he is going to be one of the great young pitchers to come up...mark it down.

He may even win a Cy Young or two by the time his career is over...this was his third start ever.....you don't beome the number 10 pick overall to starting big league games in less than a year without being a great prospect....he would have had his way with ANY team lastnight

Yeah, him & Brien Taylor! :bored:

Yeah, him & Brien Taylor! :bored:

That doesn't make sense...Taylor never reached the big leagues, and forfieted going to college....Lincecum was the best player in college last year playing in the Pac 10....he has made it to the big leagues in less than a year from being drafted.....so again please tell me how you compare taylor and Lincecum they have nothing in common really

Would you like for me to throw Todd Van Poppel in there too?

All touted as the next great pitcher! Two of them never amounted to anything & the jury is still out on the other!

again please tell me how you compare Lincecum and Taylor thats all i asked. one never made it to the big leagues playing in the minors for 8 years or so and skipped college, and the other made it to the big leagues in less than a year and was the ebst player at the college level.

When you talk about Taylor and Van Popple they are brought into converstations about the draft and signing bonus and so forth...Lincecum did not hold out and threaten to re enter the draft if the Giants didn't sign him....

you can list young pitchers that didn't live up to their potential and then I could listen some that have....so what exactly is your point...you don't think he will be good? you don't think he was worth the 10th overall pick?? What are you getting at exactly?

I'm just saying that I get tired of people jumping all over these kids & touting them as the next big thing because more often than not they usually don't live up the hype. Dontrelle Willis had a great rookie year & everyone was all over his nuts. Now he is just your standard #3 guy in a league that is watered down when it comes to pitching!

You are saying the same thing about this guy that everyone has said about all the others that have come before him! What makes you think its going to be any different with Lincecum?

Because of the way he pitches....he is what 22 or 23...not scared to come it...throws hard....nasty breaking ball....can throw his slider on both sides of the plate....and then in the mid innings started throwing a change up...that right there shows me the kid not only has great stuff but knows how to pitch at a young age....he is a rookie he is going to have some bumps along the way...but the kid has it as long as he can stay healthy...

I don't give out ringing endorsements easily...I gave one to Pence earlier saying they needed to call him up becuase he would be great...and now this kid...

For the record I was never sold on Willis...I was sold on the fact he was a great athlete but never thought would be a great pitcher

I hope for this kids sake he doesn't have injuries like them....I hate to see talent wasted....

I think he is a more polished than Wood, but maybe not the extent Prior was (Prior was very abnormal in that sense)...but better stuff than Prior for sure, and as far as Wood more variety of pitchers but maybe not better overall stuff

So Dustin, are still not sold on Lincecum? The kid should start for the NL on Tuesday

Guy is looking good, but its still early. He won't be starting on Tues. though...he just pitched today. Nice 3 bagger by him today, too. He definitely has some filthy stuff.

Yeah I saw that...The two guys that should start, won't (Lincecum, Volquez/per Baker's request).....Probably end up being Big Z

No no my friend. He's been with the Stros all year. He's doing well, but not a continuation of last year.
