6-4 final. The story of the season...errors kill the Ags and they lose a winnable game.

It was a tough game. We did pretty decent though. We will have to win 2 games in a row now to take this series. Gigem

Not going to happen. aTm threw their best starter tonight and couldn't get it done at home.

I'd like to win one this weekend.

But then again, I am more concerned about the NCAA's than this weekend or OKC.

3 errors + shutout the last 6 innings + 9th inning meltdown = Ags lose

It was a frustrating game to be at. The sips in attendence went out of their way to be obnoxious.

What pissed me off about this game more than the wild pitch that scored the go ahead run was the freaking bone headed play by our left fielder after the wild pitch. Why the hell did he catch that foul ball deep in the corner with the bases loaded? Let that motherfu**er drop. He needs to realize that catching that will automatically score another run. That 2nd out was not more important that that 2nd run in the 9th.

Um, it wouldn't have mattered, P-ville!

That 2nd out was not more important that that 2nd run in the 9th.Are you kidding me? In all of baseball, kids are taught to go and get the ball and get the out. You even see it in the bigs all the time. Get the out. Hindsight criticism always makes it seem like to let it drop could have been a good idea, but what if you let it drop and that same batter then hits it out or off the wall?

Nope, make the out. IMHO of course.

Um, it wouldn't have mattered, P-ville!

Sure, it didn't matter in the long run, but you don't catch that ball. I guarantee you that Childress got on his ass after that inning. You have to know the situation that you are in. If he would have been able to get behind the ball and catch it moving forward so that he would be in good position to fire it home, then sure, catch it. But catching it going away from the plate in a tight game should NEVER be done. End of story.

John,
You only see it in the bigs if the outfielder has a good shot at getting the guy tagging up.

I have been watching big league baseball for close to 40 years and have never seen an outfielder intentionally not catch a foul ball. Never.

So you think that there is no situation in baseball that would justify letting a foul ball drop?

Dustin00whoop

There is definitely a situation where you let it drop, but not when you are already down 1 in the top of the 9th! You have to take the out & try to prevent the big inning in that situation!

Now if it was a tie game in the bottom of the 9th, then thats a completely different story!

I guess I'll just agree to disagree on this one.
