I can't believe that noone on here is talking about the baseball series with the sips this weekend. For the first time in a while, it actually has more meaning than just being a rivalry. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 when they play each other. I don't think that has happened in a very long time.
We have to win 2 games to have a shot at a national seed.
I wonder how the sips layoff is going to affect them (if any). They lost the series to Mizzou on May 6th, played on game on May 12th, and had no mid week games. Meanwhile, the Ags are playing some pretty good ball right now. Winning Friday is a must b/c it is the only game at Olsen. I'm glad Friday's game is televised. I just hope the fans come out and pack that place.

Thanks pflug!
what I do know:
We need to btho tu...ALWAYS!

FSN at 6:30 on Friday. I bet you could bribe Jag into putting it on Aggiefans TV.

We'll win Friday....we have no chance on Sunday! It all falls on the shoulders of Newmann on Saturday if we're going to pull this thing out!

Unfortunately, even if we win the series and tie the LSS, t.u. still gets the trophy.

i should be able to get that going on aftv.... might have to do the backup way since orb doesn't want to play nice with our streaming server anymore.

pflug said it was 6:30
It's always nice to beat tu. I just don't follow college baseball, or pro baseball for that matter.

i realize the rpi and how much importance it has been given by the committee historically... but i just don't see a team finishing fourth in the conference getting a national seed.
host? probably. barring a serious season ending meltdown.

Yeah, well, thanks for your input, but it doesn't carry a lot of weight around here! Mark it down...if we win 2 of 3 from the sips we will be a National Seed! If softball can get 3 National Seeds from the Big XII, so can baseball!

Conference standings don't mean that much in baseball. No matter how we finish, chances are we will be a higher seed than Okie State b/c of our RPI and SOS.

Ive been thinking about it.... trust me when I say that
thing is our guys have not been steady with their play... so I have a bad feeling about it and Im not trying to get too jacked up about the series

How can you say they haven't been steady. We win our Tuesday games, we win our Friday and Saturday games, and we lose heart breakers on Sunday. Seems pretty steady to me!

We'll ive been saying it for over half the season. Our guys dont know how to finish a team off. If we had a great team, we woulda swept some of these bottom feeders. I dont know... there have been some games this year that really make me question the team. they are good, dont get me wrong. But they are not great.

I agree with you on that. I was just questioning how you didn't think they were steady. They are very steady, just not in a good way sometimes!

barring a no win/no loss finish to the season, i agree the aggies will have a better seeding than the Pokes... i just don't think they get a national seed while finishing fourth or fifth in the conference.
conceding that, historically, rpi and sos do carry a lot more weight with the committee than conference... conference isn't ignored all together.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see a baseball regional in college station very similar to the softball regional -- with aTm, ULaLa and SHSU all there.

The only shot we have at a national seed is winning 2 of 3 from t.u. and winning a few games in the conference tourney. Anything less and we host the first round only.
