We'll give up Big Shot Bob for Stoude and Diaw!
I wonder what the Suns fans think about this whole ordeal now.
Boy, all we have to do is take care of buisness this next game with those two gone

Stern made a huge mistake in doing this. If he is going to suspend them, then how can he justify not suspending Duncan for leaving the bench in the 2nd quarter? The NBA TV ratings are suffering already and this is going to hurt them even more.

If anyone saw or listened to Mike & Mike... It was explained by an NBA official (The Guy Who Made The Supsension) why it was done like that...
1) Players go out on the court all the time during a game & every time a team calls a time out to give High 5's & what not.... So "Technically" everyone could be banned for 1 game...
2) Tim was not going after anyone... the player who up ended Elson was already down court & Tim was obviously concerned about his team mate who almost went head 1st into the floor & Tim was not looking to fight anyone or retaliate, he wanted to see how his teammate was doing..
3) Amare was going after Horry.. he had to be Bear Hugged & held back by 1 or 2 people from getting into it with Horry. Amare was not concerned about Nash and was not going to his aid. He was instead going to escalate the issue & create more drama.
But I am sure that an NBA official isn't enough for Pflug, Dustin, or SA who will now twist & turn things to try & make the 2 different situations the same...
Again, remember.... Folks go on the court all the time in celebration or when a big dunk is made... It happens all the time... But what forced the NBA to suspend the 2 Suns players was their OBVIOUS intent.
Also keep in mind that both players were interviewed by League Officials yesterday along with several Suns Players & Media close the Suns bench & after those interviews, the League felt compeled to Suspend the 2 guys because it was obvious that Amare was NOT checking in & was NOT going to Nash.

I heard this too...sounded pretty reasonable...although I didn't see it happen...
If what Stu Jackson described is accurate...I can see why Duncan wasn't suspended...I can also see why Staud was suspended...
Bottom line:
there was an altercation & he left the bench...the rule is pretty clear on that.
Duncan, when he "left the bench" (a few feet on the court) was celebrating the dunk (acc'd to Stu Jackson).

Stephen A is a wanna be thug in a suite....
Stephen A also forgets that players come out on the court to give high 5's & for dunks... I guess lets Ban everyone after every Dunk or Time Out...
Stephen A also forgets that Tim wasn't going to fight anyone & was walking slowly towards Elson not any of the Suns players.. while Amare was going after Horry...
Now granted I would have acted like Amare myself had that been my teammate. But that is just the way the League saw it.

Duncan was half way across the court b/c of an altercation with one of his teammates. Just b/c he didn't make it all the way there does not mean that he didn't break the rules. Leaving the bench b/c of any altercation is supposed to get you suspended. If you are going to suspend the Suns best player, then you have to do the same with the Spurs.

by Duncan coming out on the floor could be viewed as an agressive act in reaction to a teammate being hurt....he should be suspended too if you strictly interpret the rule like it was for Amare...all it would take is for some suns players actually on the court to look and see duncan coming on to the court and a fight could break out....thats what the rule is preventing

C'mon... really....
Again who was Duncan "agressive" to? Elson... Elson was alone.... Tim wasn't looking at anyone except his own teammate...
In both situations I would & have acted like Duncan & Amare..
I have been concerned about a teammate & gone out to them like Duncan was and try to help them up...
I have also seen a friend/teammate get taken down the wrong way & gotten into fights to back them up like Amare wanted to...
I am not saying Amare was wrong... I've done it myself... I am just saying that Amare & Tim were involved in 2 different situations & had 2 different intentions..

OK LETS STRAIGHTEN THIS OUT
Duncan did not leave the AREA OF THE BENCH.
The 2 suns players DID.
Its not about getting on the court, standing up, etc.
Its about leaving the area of the bench during an altercation. Therefore Duncan didn't do anything that doesn't happen in 100 percent of basketball games. Amare and Boris DID. End of story.

Look, I didn't read Page 3 of this thing, but Spurs fans are clearly missing the point. "Intent" isn't mentioned in the rule whatsoever! So who cares what Amare & Boris were trying to do, they were less on the court than Duncan was.
The rule is vague & is left up to too much interpretation. One, what is an altercation? I would say a hard foul that results in people getting in each other's face is an altercation. If thats the case, then Duncan should've been suspended! There is no arguing that he left the bench!
Two, what is leaving the bench? Amare & Boris took maybe one step onto the court & never crossed the coach's line! Regardless of what they were intending to do, they never left the bench area! By the way the league interpretted the law in this instance, all Suns players stood up, so all should be suspended!

Well, then what other freaking sources do you want, Pum! The media & people on here are the only ones commenting on it! AND NO, I not using the League Office....they always have an aggenda with every move they make!
While I agree with you about the League Office... they are the final say on the issue...
That's like a judge making a ruling & then someone saying, "Well I don't agree with it"... well who cares what anyone other than the judge thinks.... The ruling is final...
Also... it's not like most Media outlets don't have an agenda of their own... (tu anyone?).... lets not forget that the Media hates the idea of the Spurs in the Finals again....
And I have said... I don't think Amare should be suspended... but I guess that slips by everyone...

That must've been on page 3...which I said I didn't read!
Stern looked like a total idiot today on Dan Patrick! I can't believe he actually allowed some of that garbage to come out of his mouth! I agree with White, his league is rigged, & I think he is pissed because everyone is starting to see it!

Stern got nasty with Patrick today. I only heard the first min or two, but the little I heard I agreed with Stern.
