I love it that baseball players are starting to have some fun with hecklers. Last week it was Vernon Wells and last night it was Griffey.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2870769

In the sixth inning, Griffey sent someone back to the Reds clubhouse to fetch the largest athletic supporter he could find. The accomplice wrote the number "3" and "JR" on the waistband, and Griffey put the supporter in a brown paper bag, rolled it up and tossed it to Schafer when he ran back onto the field.

How can you dislike Griffey???
Probably one of the most classiest acts in MLB...when he's healthy.

because of the following

1. I got sick and tired of hearing about how "great his smile" is and how much he loves the sport. then we he got injuried and couldn't put up the numbers that HUGE grin of his turned into a "braty frown"

2. He was known to call his buddy at ESPN (former teamate) and complain about how (I forget his name but he plays or played for the Angels and is known for his crazy out field catches) this guy would be on ESPN all the time for his highlight catches but he wasn't

Hes a egotistical, whiny pants....

Dont like him, I was never on his annoying band wagon either

Former teammate at ESPN was Harold Reynolds, and crazy catch guy was Jim Edmonds.

I don't think Reynolds is at ESPN anymore and Edmonds now plays (and has for awhile) for the Cardinals.

An interesting side note as Edmonds and Reynolds were also teammates for a year at the end of his career. He did play with Griffey longer though.

There are the missing gaps filled in for you BG

Reynolds fired from ESPN because of sexual harrassment allegations. Edmonds constantly on SC with his highlight catches because he always misplays balls but manages to make it for it! He ends up making a lot of spectacular catches because he screws up at first!

Thanks Pine!

I actually knew Edmonds played for the Cards, but Ill always remember him and those catches with the Angels. And I knew it was Reynolds I was just drawing a blank. Im actually a VERY big baseball fan, im just bad with names.

Coincidentally, after wondering what happened to Harold Reynolds, I got a spam email this morning with a link to what he is doing.

He has launched a line of baseball instructional vidoes.
