We lost 11-5... we really needed to sweep this series.

Sure, a win yesterday would have been great, but we are still just fine. We moved back up to #5 in the RPI and with three games against #4 RPI t.u. Beating Mcneese tomorrow and then taking 2 of 3 against the sips put us in great position for a possible national seed. Hosting the first round is already done IMO.

Our conference record just isn't that impressive.

Our conference record just isn't that impressive.
That doesn't really matter. We are going to finish 3rd or 4th in a conference that will get 6-8 teams in the NCAA tourney. We are 2-0 against the #1 RPI team in the country (won both games on the road). We have a great record against highly ranked teams overall.
The NCAA looks a lot more at what you did as a whole, not just in conference play. At a minimum, the Ags will be hosting the first round at Olsen.
I can't help but wonder what might have been if Chambliss had not gotten hurt. I think we would be fighting the sips for conference champion and would have a national seed guaranteed.

We have only lost 2 series all season & if Chambliss is healthy you win both of those. Thats a long way from where we were last year!
