Howdy guys, my old roommate from college is on ComedyCentral! He's been a funny guy the whole time I knew him, but he never really had an outlet. We finally got him to do stand up (open Mic) in Austin at the Laugh Stop. He worked there to "perfect his craft" and hung out with comedians all the time. He recently made it several rounds into "Austin's funniest comedian contest" and some scouts from Comedy Central saw him. They flew him and a couple of other comedians up to New York in March to film a little stand up show and it's going to air on Comedy Central in June. They have a 'teaser' up on Comedy Central for the show called "Live At Gotham". They used one of his jokes as the teaser for it, so it's pretty cool to see him "on the big screen".

Go to this link and it will start auto-playing a comedian. Scroll down the list of comedians underneath the player and his name is Bryan Gutmann.

While the video is playing, do me a favor and click the "5 star rating" under the media window. It may help in some way and may help his career...so thanks!!

That is pretty cool. Stand up comedy is a hard gig.

Yeah, he was funny at home, but not stand up funny. He just had a real sarcastic attitude (much like me)...just weird kind of...but I guess that's what makes a good stand up guy. :)

I've heard most (great) comedians are real a-holes (b/c of the sarcasm)...and are REALLY smart.

most of their comedy comes from their alternate view of society/the world...most are pretty quiet & think a lot (when they're not on stage)...

does that fit this guy???

Went good. he had about 3 minutes of screen time and people in the audience laughed (so I guess that's good). :)
