I love golf, but watching PGA events on TV gets old fast (except for the major tournies). What if you had a golf tournament open to any PGA tour card holder where the player had to put up their own money to play? Basically, it would be like a high stakes poker game. $500K to enter. The first 20 players to sign up are in, winner take all. I'd love to see the top players in the world play for $10M of their own money.
Also, pro all star games pretty much are a waste of time now. What if all stars put up their own money and the winning team took home the pot. Let's say every NBA all star puts up $1M. I think it would be badass to see NBA players actually play hard in an all star game for millions of dollars (before someone calls me out, the NBA idea was in the Sport's guy's column today).
Thoughts?
