this is exactly why they shouldn't take the votes til the end, nor distinguish the heisman before the NC game

Honestly... .someone like Nash... someone capable of winning a game by himself when it counts...
Someone who doesn't choke...

is he the most VALUABLE?

Although I'm a Mavs fan, I think the Mavs would be ok without Dirk. The Suns would suck without Nash and the Lakers would suck without Kobe, which is what the MVP should be based on.
I like Dirk, but he needs to find some heart and some juevos, then he will be a great player.

Steve Nash and LeBron James are in a league of their own this year.

I would have to agree that Dirk is not the MVP of the league. Nash and James have done more for their teams and are both still playing. Also believe both of them are scoring more than 8 points in their playoff games.

Nash was the MVP. Look how the Suns played w/o him.

How can you put TMac tied for 2nd with Steve Nash? I know I'm a Mavs fan, but I agree Dirk doesn't deserve it but TMac 2nd? Thats a little absurd considering another one of his early exits from the playoffs.

I don't think TMAC should win it, but let's face it, he won the 'kets over 50 games with Yao missing 30 of them. Who else is on that team? Shane Battier? Skip to my Lou? Juan Howard? He basically won 50 games by himself...that's probably the main reason I put him second. When you're talking about the most VALUABLE, that stands out among all the others; he had to do it all.

Loftin if you have the time....
I have a question..... What were Tim Duncan's numbers compared to Dirk's?
Not saying that Tim should be the MVP... but what I am saying that if Tim's numbers were better or about the same & if Tim is not worthy.... why is Dirk?

Wow, it's easy to underestimate Duncan, since he plays with Ginobili and Parker (and whines to the refs constantly). However, from a purely statistical perspective, he's the MVP.
Tim Duncan
Points Per Game 20.0 (#26 in NBA)
Rebounds Per Game 10.6 (#10 in NBA)
Assists Per Game 3.4 (#70 in NBA)
Blocks Per Game 2.38 (#5 in NBA)
Steals Per Game 0.82 (#122 in NBA)

sorry, I know he's a good player, just could never vote for him for MVP...he just whines about everything. I wouldn't vote for Reggie Miller for MVP, even though he was a bad-A player

Other than scoring 2 more baskets a game than Tim..... Dirk has nothing on Tim....
Tim beat him out in every category & almost beat him out in Points Per Game....
Tim has won the award before & if he gets again down the road, that is fine... but this season... all I know is Dirk is not the MVP.....

He's won it before... so it doesn't matter if anyone votes for him again...
All he wants are Championships.....
By the way... Folks can say what they want... but I challenge anyone to watch any of the other NBA series & find 1 superstar that doesn't complain as much as Tim or who doesn't expect SuperStar Treatment like Tim...
