NFL to expand to 17 games?

Americans always seem to want more pro football. Yet it's the folks abroad who might be getting an extra taste of the NFL in the future. Although talks are extremely preliminary, the NFL is investigating adding a 17th regular-season game and playing it outside the United States. The extra game would take the place of one in the preseason, allowing every team to play once abroad without sacrificing a home match.

what do yall think of this. personally, i think it would water down the regular season and the logistics of each team playing one game each season internationally would create a huge headache and i dont think the players would like it one bit.

I'm all for less pre-season games...but you basically make this a "pre-season game that counts" meaning you have to play your starters...etc, etc.

PLUS the added risk of injury. I'm all for more football, but I don't see this happening.

If the other countries had a team in the League... Maybe...

Lets say for instance that all the NFL Europe teams were actually merged into the "REAL" NFL & made apart of the AFC & NFC... then I could/would understand going overseas to other countries to play over there...

But until that happens I don't like the idea of American teams playing anything more than an Exhibition game overseas....

I don't like the idea of the NFL playing games oversees, but I do like them adding a game to the schedule and reducing the number of pre-season games.

I think playing overseas is crazy! They have TV over there. They can take a vacation to the States if they really want to see an NFL game live.

Exactly... and besides.. Football is about as popular over there as Soccer is here....

Actually i bet it's more popular over there then soccer is over here. Soccer has 0 presence over here while American Football has a tad over there.
