1. When I was about 8 our house was struck by lightning. I was there too in the living room, but it hit our kitchen. Very creepy!
2. Just a year or so later, my best friend was struck and killed by lightning. thats one funeral Ill never forget
3. When in the US Navy, our squadron was hit. (lightning)
4. Less than an hour ago I saw lightning hit less than a 1/2 mile or 1/4 mile from where I was at. Though its happened before, I normally just see the flash. This time I saw the whole thing. VERY scary! A thick bolt of lightning, very bright and right infront of you.

I have a buddy who was struck in the back of the neck! He said the doctors told him to be extra careful because once you have been struck once your chance of being struck again goes up dramatically!

Thats the weirdest thing...
I believe it though, seems like I hear that more and more or hear about it happening alot
I wonder why?

I think it basically charges them, so they are essentially a lightning rod! I don't know that for sure, but it would make sense!

I think that people that get struck by lightening just do more work outside making them more likely to be hit. If people were "charged" they would shock whoever they touched.

Never really researched it until just now, but it seems that my buddies' doctors, me, & you are all wrong.

Certain factors could affect these odds, however. For instance, some one's more likely to be struck if they golf in the rain or camp during thunderstorm season.
Actually that is exactly what I was saying. Instead of saying, "more work outside," I should have said, "do activities that make them more susceptible to lightening strikes."

Well, yeah, but the guy that holds the world record for the most strikes has been struck twice while inside!
