:rep: There is another, Jack Benny. Neither man's humor was ever at the expense of another human being's dignity.

jamie foxx has his own show... hes hilarous and has proven that many, many times. (In living Color, numerous films and stand up)
Jim Carey? are you kidding ME? He has more 100 million dollar films (Comedies) than anyone
Martin Lawerence is hilarous too and deserves to be on the list. He had his own show which was rated #1 at one time. Did MANY...MANY stand ups. Dont get me started on his career on the big screens too.

haha...oh snap...i just realized...when I saw Jim Carey, i thought Drew Carey:laugh:
my bad, but I stand by everything else I just posted...
Jamie Foxx=better actor than comedian, Marin Lawrence=nothing more than a scratchy voice, somewhat funny
when making a poll about the funniest comedians and actors of all time, go with guys that are actually on a Jim Carey level, that's all. I've said my peace, you disagree, I'll leave what I've said to stand on its own...my bad about the Jim Carey bit

Dane Cook sucks! Chappelle is funny enough to get away with the stuff he gets away with, without offending a whole lot of people! But he isn't really stand up comedy funny! His writing makes what he does funny when put to a skit!
Farrell's mannerisms crack me up! He makes me laugh without ever saying a word. John Heder is the same way (just watched School for Scoundrels).
BAGGIO

Dude the last time I saw Dave on stage doing one of his many stand ups, I had a hard time not laughing. It was great.
(he talked about going through the ghetto and a baby trying to sell him drugs)

Bill Cosby is a good one too...

Conan

I chose other. Chris Farley is my favorite. I was just talking to 2 of my residents about my 2 favorite comedies: Tommy Boy and Christmas Vacation. Chris Farley made Tommy Boy.
I normally don't like the comedians who tell cultural or racial jokes for the most part. Dave Chep was really funny with some of his skits, but if it wasn't hillarious it was terrible. 75% were not funny to me. Although some of his acts were great

Toss up between Dave Chapelle and Will Ferrell. I'll give it to Ferrell due to the complete lameness that "Dave Chapelle's Block Party" was.

"multiple drug toxicity," including cocaine and heroin, was the official cause of death.
He also had a heart defect as a child. He often joked about doing drugs and even dying from it so I don't feel too bad for the guy. He was hilarious though. Was about to do his first HBO special when he died.

Did you notice in the first video that his right hand shook the entire time? In the second video he held the mic in his right hand again, but left it on the stand. Do you think the Letterman video preceded the other in time?
Do you think he was told about this shaking problem?

his drug problem was well documented & realized by many...I think he tried rehab...
sad thing is...it was such a part of his act...that I'm sure it was hard to give up, in fear that he would lose his "edge"...
