What would it cost me to book someone like Casey Donahew that's not too big yet but has a small following for a raging tailgate party?

it depends on the exposure and their schedule. if they have to go out of their way its proabably more than they are worth. if its conveniant they will be reasonable. I ahd Jack Ingram play at a party in highschool and i think we paid $800 and all the beer we could drink. this as jack before nashville.

Yeah I know. My plan is to go out with a bang. I'm wanting to make a replica of the aggie barn on hwy 6 for the Texas game and Thursday night having someone play and party all night in the Kleberg Parking Lot. I'd have to check on a permit. I know that the bus has a band play up around them every once in awhile.

well that'll be part of my entire plan. I won't lay it all out now but basically anyone will be invited and encouraged to donate to the cause.

I'll have to find some engineers to lay out an easy way to put the barn into pieces for easy setup. I'm stuck on how to do a roof right now.

I haven't put that much thought into it but I know a guy that did sound for northgate music festival a few years ago.

Check him out, see how he'll do it for. RDM is a local company that puts on concerts too.

uhmmm depends, you can do it now, he might be able to cut you a rate for being so far out in advance.....some bands don't even get booked for some weekends and might play for real cheap. but 2 months is sufficient.

I don't know but about 3-4 years ago me and a buddy of mine had a project where we did a 2 man acoustical set and ended up playing a show at a UT frat party. Although we played inside the frat house and Cory Morrow played outside. Cory Morrow played Chilifest that afternoon and then drove up and played the frat party that night for a private party.
Anyway, at the end of the 2 hours we were booked for one of the frat rats came up and said, "Can we just pay you a check for the $150 we owe you? We just payed Cory Morrow 10k in cash and that wiped out all our cash on hand."
I hate that guy even more now. Although did meet this sb from Texas State that I hung out with for a few weeks after that.
PS: How we landed that gig.... SXSW 3 or 4 years ago (I can't even remember now) My friend just played an hour on the street on sixth street just to say he did it and the owner of The Chuggin Monkey in Austin walked by and said, "One of our bands tonight (not a official SXSW venue) bailed, do you want to play his set?" So my friend ended up playing The Chuggin Monkey which is a huge Frat Hangout and one of the Frat Rats liked him enough to have him play thier big Party they throw once a year. So he asked me to back him up that night with another guitar.
I didn't know Coolaid was famous. Or is that infamous?;)
