found a cool new addon to vbulletin earlier and just installed it.

you might have noticed there are now + icons next to all posts when viewing a forum or the new posts link. what that allows you to do is click it and open up the first post of a thread (i can also set it to the last post but i think it will be more useful as first post) and it shows the first post of any thread so you can see if you want to view that thread or not (and make a reply). really helps when alot of threads have titles that aren't very descriptive.

Let me know what you think if we should keep it or not.

All of the sudden, the threads have buttons to expand them and one to go directly to the last post.

The banner on this thread right now is for "Live Music Resturants" (resturants is spelled wrong for the spelling challenged on the site.)

i think First. b/c you can read the first and then click on the quick link to the right to get the last post.

yeah thats a good point.... because in order to reply to the thread you still have to click to go into the thread so seeing the last post doesnt help much there.

now if some sort of a basic quick reply was integrated thats a whole different story. this would be even better with quick reply integrated.

That's an awesome idea. BTW I like having it show the first post.

fyi related to the addon there was a new version released that i just put on which fixed a few issues people had seen and also now has the option to show "first unread post" when you click the plus icon. figured id try it out for a bit to see if i like it better than showing the first post.
